Lebron 8 Preheat: Lace problem

I recently purchased a pair of Preheats, but the laces aren't flat like they should be, as shown in the picture. Does anybody know how to re-flatten them like how they're supposed to be?

Any help would be appreciated.

What's funny and is ironing them a serious solution? The laces actually really bother me and the seller neglected to mention it.
