What did you look for on the size tag to verify? New to collecting sneakers and was wondering what to look for to verify

Notice the production date 5-06-00 touching the barcode. Fakes never had this. Around late 1999-2006 this was an easy tell of an authentic.

These are in great shape but a word to wise being that you're a new collector is that 2000 Infrared 6s are very prone to the sole falling apart. Shoe is 20 years old and the sole is made of foam so even in pristine condition they're not gonna be wearable for more than a year or two max if this seller kept them in perfect storing conditions.

At this point it is a collector piece exclusively unless sole was/is swapped.

So from 99/06 the production date was touching the barcode,but after that the fakes started doin the same as the legit pairs and making the production date touch the barcode

I believe it was 05 when that size tag style was stopped actually.

Can you still authenticate newer sneakers by the size tag? Or is that method obsolete?

It a lot harder now for sure. I dont want to say its meaningless though.

Without question. I still struggle with certain models. 1s specifically. I dont even try anymore with those. lol.

Yeah they WILL fall apart. Midsole will crumble like a cookie it happened to me on 2000 infrareds in 2006 only 6 years old. But I left em in the sun too long using sea glow to ice up the soles.
