lets take it back to late summer 05 the last true SBs

Ive been in the dunk sb game since the 1st series.

Owned almost every dunk sb starting with the SUPAs
and ending with the Tiffs/Vapors.

IMO the DUNK SBs went downhill when the PINK BOX
series started, not saying anything bad about the
pink boxes, however thats when everything went down
hill for me.

Since the tiff release, I've bought 5 Dunk SBs since,

Purple Pigeons
Hawaiis
Peacocks
Dr.Feel Goods
Skate or Dies

to me these were the only quality releases since 2004.

Have a great day.

i have to disagree. i think that the sb line in-general is on an uphill climb with the zoom tre AD and all of the themed dunk sb's coming out. as faras the dunks go, i'm feelin' all of the right colors and crazy stuff they're doing. the older sb's were much more simpler, which is nothingwrong with that. but now they're pushing the envelope which to me, is apart of what makes a sneaker. the dr. feel good's are one of my fav's tocome out in awhile. that lime green just sets the shoe off and is an attn-getter. the guns n roses lows, not only loud, but COMFORTABLE. the mork nmindy's, dino jr's, pee wee's, brian anderson's, and marshall amps, are some of my fav's out of the last 2 years. next on my radar will bethose lobster/picknet table cloth-themed dunks. that red, and the picknet tablecloth design are not only hilarious but original.

is it me or have the sb dunks as of late been more comfortable vs. dunks of the past? i know it's same technology, but the last few drops feel like thememory foam OLNL pack.

yes nike SB seems to be going down hill... but there are some hot tre models, blazers, and some of the dunks are even nice too. i think that since there'sbeen a flood of fugly dunks that it just makes it seem as though there's nevver any good releases.

I agree there has definitely been a bunch of good releases. I mean if your basing it on amount of hype and resell potential then there maybe only a couple.

this statement couldn't seem any more true. it's like if its not hyped than nobody wants it. it's like there has to be some sort twist for themto be liked. if the mf dooms didn't say doom on them and had nothing to do with mf doom would ppl still have been as hyped to buy them? i doubt it. wellyou know what...better for those who like what they like......ya dig.

To me it died with the Eire's, that's when I lost interest. The eclipses were at least a cool concept to m, and the Hawaii's were hot, but when Isaw the Eire's I died a little inside

First off, SB's represent a line of sneakers that goes well beyond just Dunks. So if you're talking about just Dunks, you should probably say DUNK SB's.

Second, Dunk SB's were pretty much dead by the time the "Tiffany's" came out. That release was the epitome of hype and the death of a subculture.

I mean, there were riots for the Espo's and Pharrell's, yet everyone harps on "Tiffany's". Which are actually Diamond Team Dunks. "Tiffany" Dunks was just another horrible nickname for a sneaker for the masses.

All that sneaker represents is sneaker culture going truly mainstream. For better or worse? That's your call.

The very fact that you talk about "resell" value just points to how ridiculous things got around this time. And that you may be part of the problem. They're sneakers. Not cocaine or real estate.

Hunter's were just an atrocious sneaker by the way. Last nice pair of Dunk SB's may have been the "Buck" Dunks. And I still wound up selling my pair.
You said it better than I could have--some of us know when they jumped the shark, and some of us don't.

personally i dont feel that sb's have died. they went through a drought, yes, but the other models are looking great. and some of the newer sb's havebeen beautiful. guns n roses lows, zoom tre's (most of em), and blazers all have been beauties in my eyes. and as it was said before, the tiffanys didrepresent the commercialism of the sb dunk, not necessarily the peak of sb dunks' craftmanship. i personally really never fell in love with the tiffanysand probably never will.

btw the btty's were wonderful as well

sb dunk's never died and probably wont ever. one mans trash may be another mans treasure, just cause you dont like them doesnt mean anything to nikebecause in the long run they're still making money. there has been many good sb dunks that dropped after the tiffs. each series has its own strengths andweaknesses, some may have more strength over weakness. stop complaining if you dont like dont buy, simple.

$120 resell when they first dropped? Are you joking?

Did places even sell them for under $150 in NYC because I remember hype and prices being crazy. As others have said diamonds were the epitome of hype. By thattime hype was insane. I'm still angry I couldn't get Rayguns in NYC since I didn't want to pay $160 or wait on a 2 hour line after I had wanted apair since I saw the sample when it first surfaced coupled with the Nike Raygun commercials and the Meth customs.

I remember when I could call up a store like DQM and they would hold a pair of dunk SBs for me to give me time to get downtown or when I could call a store inPhilly and they would ship a pair of SBs to me for a price less than 5x retail.

nike sb is definitly loosing its "steam" over the years, and less and lees good quality color ways are dropping, but how can we forget

pee wee's
old spice
money cat lows
dooms

all very recent very nice shoes, IMO.

also they had some recent gold box blazers drop that were really nice....

Def. the last great pack sb has released. I love it when these get some respect .The material and simplicity was so sick...The michigansand Iowas are stupid in person. Quick side note....SB should have dropped a georgetown version of these. Had they done that...
smh.gif
...stillsearching for the st. johns and villanova's..probably would drop a body for those two. The last great sb to drop would have to bethe dooms.

Best Dunk SB's in my opinion were the Flashes and the rest of that set (Lodens, Sharks) hands down. By 2005 Dunk SB's were hideous, and overhyped bypeople who had no idea what they were when the first set dropped.

F a MF doom

Shut up you have no idea what youre talking about. I slowly stopped with sbs after the diamond dunks dropped. Its crazy because it was the first time I hadseen a line at blades in soho. The MF Dooms reminded me of the tiffs because it was the first time there was a line down here in philly.

I'd have to agree with this. These got alot of hate because they were suede as opposed to OG fabrics but I think they were one of the best dunk sbreleases ever.

I copped:
- St. John's
- Syracuse
- Kentucky
- UNLV

Still have all of them DS. I need to bust the 'Cuses out this spring...

black box really gets unfair hate, and why do folk act like SB's are only comprised of dunks? Blazers have been **** lately besides the dark blue and allblack suede blazers. Also, Classics have fallen off as well.

Never liked Tiffs and never will.
