, his lyrics are fire and actually coherent. imo its the dopestsong on the album excluding Mr. Carter. all of it makes sense and it's all so real. wayne on another level with this one and the chorus just sends it overthe top. definitely

there's an official album thread...everything carter iii related should be there...

tell me why i thought about posting this, i have it on repeat as i type. This song and Tie my hands are my two sleepers and fave

^^
I believe i can post an appreciation post for a single track as in the case of you're everything being posted 1213131 times and there was already a IITrill thread so if not, my bad and lock it but i believe this is allowed, and this track deserves it.

funny how other artist get appreciation post outside of main threads, but when a wayne one pops up riders/haters come out with the quickness.

The concept alone is worthy of that title.

Can someone PLEASE explain what is so good about the "concept" of this song?
I can't believe what I'm hearin about this CD and howmany Wayne stans there are. In no way is this hate. I like Lil Wayne's music a lot, all the way back to Tha Block is Hot. Carter and Carter 2 still getspins in my car.

I just need to vent at how ridiculous some of you sound. I read somewhere on here "You guys need to realize there's more to this CD than justlyrics." Someone actually said that. I'd love someone to post a memorable verse off this CD (a Wayne verse, because Jay-Z, Fabolous, and Juelz allmurdered him on his own project). The only reason this CD gets a 7/10 from is production. I haven't heard Wayne spit one hot metaphor/punchline on thewhole album. And that's what I listen to him for. I'll be done with this CD in a few weeks and it will be forgotten.

So you get an idea of where I'm comin from my favorite songs off Carter 3 are: Let the Beat Build (just a

beat), La La, Mr. Carter, Nothin on Me (even though it's old), Tie My Hands, and Shoot Me Down.

But please don't tell me Wayne came up with crazy concepts for Shoot Me Down and Dr. Carter. Go listen to Nas "Rewind" or "I Gave YouPower" and tell me Wayne could do somethin half as creative as that.

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to vent.

See this why I lightened up a little when it came to rap. i used to think like this but then I realized"LYRICS ARE OVERRATED." Yes, I truly believe that. People are cuttin themselves short when it comes to rap music nowadays. An array of punchlines ahot song does not make. Just enjoy the music, my dude, this song doesn't need mad punchlines, truly who cares if the feelin of the music is hot?
Anywho, this song is sick I had it one repeat for a while.

I'm not sayin every song he puts out needs mad punchlines. If you look I listed this song as one of my favorites on the album.

I just take the Carter 3 for what it's worth. The man is not changin the rap game in any way, shape, or form and it bothers me that people are postin onmessage boards that Lil Wayne is innovative.

To me, and correct me if I'm wrong, a song is made up of a beat and lyrics. If a song is missing good lyrics then I don't feel like it can be anythingabove average. A hot beat can only carry you so far.

Maybe I'm stupid, but can someone please explain the concept of this song and what is so revolutionary about it?

This and mr. carter are my favorites from the album....but i have had this one on repeat for the past two days...

ehh not feelin it if this is the best track i shouldnt waste my time on listenin to the cd

Aight lil Lyrical Killa.

If you listened half as much as you spoke, you would know that each verse is a Wayne of a different era, i.e. Hot boys, Mixtape, and Current. In each ofthe verses, he pleads to himself to not change and stay the same, but is shot down because change must happen. The way Wayne went back and recycled lines andflows from each era was creative.

And why do I always have to go back. I don't want to keep oogling at Illmatic every time something new drops that doesn't live up, in youropinion.

You need to take Wayne's advice and shoot yourself down. Your way of thinking is toxic.
