so if you're automatically not going to receive respect, you can just quit before even trying.  great life lesson, imo
working hard, earning respect/rising above it must be played out

Please don't put the blame on teachers, I have been in the schools and have seen many teachers who are energized and looking to make a difference in their students lives. The problem is they become worn down and stressed, these children have no respect and desire to learn. It all stems from what goes on at home, they are not taught to appreciate their education.

Its time for them to retire then, if you are treating a student bitter cause what the last student did, its time.

As bad as kids are there always that one kid that reminds you why you became a teacher, if you are beyond that point its time throw in the towel.

If you played basketball and you ARE the best player on the team and the coach just flat out doesnt like/respect you and give you no PT........you would just keep trying to appease them instead of trying to find a better situation?...........Really

Yep they forget that kids succumb to low self esteem and depression easily hell some kids have PTSD .But they are supposed to come to school and learn regardless of the fact their last teachers didn't care, they barely have school supplies and breakfast .note I'm not tryna victimize them for the hell of it this kids truly are victims and products of a terrible environment.

"rise above it"- keep practicing, keep being the best player and strive to be even greater, if the coach is too prideful to play you, then there are other options
who said anything about appeasing and succumbing to higher authorities as if it's a one-dimensional solution, keep your words out of my mouth.........Really

I was almost discouraged from continuing to post in this thread, the way you guys twist some of these stories to make it fit your argument is sad. Hopefully one day you will be able to face the truth ...
