Well the confidence and bravado he was exhibiting after being drafted may have led us to believe he wouldn't care what Kobe or whoever was doing and be a leader and not a church mouse. I can live with rookie mistakes because you're being aggressive and trying to make plays ala Mudiay but the temerity with which he's played since summer league is alarming even a few games in.

I agree with this "I can live with rookie mistakes because you're being aggressive and trying to make plays ala Mudiay but the temerity with which he's played since summer league is alarming even a few games in"

I watch him play and tell myself shoot, or drive or be more aggressive and show something, but I just think he is being overshadowed by everything going on around him, its going to take time but I believe this kid will be an all star in time

Thing about randle and clarkson is they will make plays with the touches they do get so I would rather Kobe shoot less to get more of what randle and clarkson are bringing to the table.

Dlo does nothing at all so he doesn't deserve to get more touches. This too many ball handlers excuse is bs, you have to prove you're able to do something, anything with the few touches you do get before I'm going to say you deserve more touches.

I think we've become spoiled by the likes of Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, John Wall, etc. that came in and played well immediately.

The reality is it takes 2-3-4 years to develop like Mike Conley, Tony Parker, Rajon Rondo, etc.

It doesn't help that Russell is playing with other players that like to have the ball in their hands and a stupid *** coach.

There's really no indication that Mudiay is better so far. If you think DLo has been bad, Mudiay has been just as bad, if not worse with far more chances.

Give DLo some time.

Okafor was day 1 ready, so of course he looks better, and I was Okafor over Russell, but the more I think about it. With Okafor, either he or Randle gets stunted. They both would not be able to flourish. I think that went into the decision. Somebody would end up doing what DLO is doing. Standing around on offense, and defensively could have been a mess.

Management even more stupid for hiring him after months of deliberation

They should know that if it took that many interviews then he's not the guy

I'm still trying to figure out what made Russell this tremendous high upside prospect.

I say BS keeps DLO in the game as long as Mudiay stays in, and quit treating Clarkson and Randle like starts let them play only ones that should be sitting is Kobe and Hibbert to rest

whether its DLO or Mudiay. I hope someone lights up the other.   I don't see any passion in DLO's game yet.   At least Randle looks and sounds like he cares when we lose.

not giving up hope by any means, as its way too early.

This.

I just get the vibe that he wants to be "cool"

This would be ok if he went hard every now and then.

Pause

I believe most draft analysis had him as the highest superstar and bust potential.

Also I think Jah has shown enough versatility outside of the paint and in the midrange area so far that he and Randle could have worked. Defensively we're still terrible now.

I don't need Russ to make a difference right away I need him to attempt to make a difference

Dude is just happy to be here right now talking about yeah it will get better yeah I will work hard

Reflecting and rewatching Kobe's performances thus far and his leg injury may have been a bit more serious than initially reported. His game has dwindled into him standing behind the arc and slinging bad threes off of one or two dribbles. The guy has never been a 3pt marksmen.

The shot isn't falling yet he keeps shooting them b/c He hasn't been able to get the cup at all, first step is extremely slow.

I've seen him post in his sweet spots maybe only 3 or 4 times in three games. At this age the low post and elbow should be his bread and butter but there have been very few offensive sets that put him there, and when he has gotten there he hasn't looked comfortable at all. Often over dribbling and trying to bulldoze his way to the cup. I just can't imagine Byron telling Kobe to not play with his back to the basket, especially at this age.

I'd like to see more posting from Kobe and Roy. Let guys double down or let them both get their shots. Also need to see more 1-3 and 2-3 pick & pops/slip screens with Kobe, DLo, J6ix... With Kobe popping out it'll force the defense to make a decision to help over and he can swing it to the open guy or pull up for OPEN jumpers of the defenders stay put

I like Julius Pushing the ball after cleaning the glass

I need to see Ryan on the floor with Roy more (spacing) and Bass and Tarik on the floor together more (energy and athleticism)

If Roy gets into early foul trouble, I'd run Bobby. He brings size and strength into the paint around the rim and I think that will help prevent those dramatic drop offs in defense in the paint when Roy is out

People ask why Ryan gets a lot of burn with bass, it's mainly for the offense. When u got 10-0, 17-4, etc at that point you're really just trying to find a spark to get some buckets to fall. And Ryan has a been pretty decent rebounding and energy wise so I understand the move
