The Packers' overtime victory over the Bengals on Sunday was Aaron Rodgers's first career overtime win, previously going 0-7 (0-4 regular season, 0-3 playoffs). Some ignoramuses liked to throw that number around as a criticism of Rodgers, questioning how clutch he is. But, due to overtime rules, in most of those games Rodgers never even got an opportunity to touch the ball. In fact, he had only thrown 6 passes in those 7 overtime periods combined!
In the overtime period against the Bengals, Rodgers threw three passes, one of which went for 72 yards and set up the game-winning field goal, bringing Rodgers's career OT pass attempts to just 9 in 8 games! Rodgers didn't even touch the ball in 4 of the 8 overtime periods he's "played" in.
