Yup, you heard that right. The brave people who rushed to save others are subjected to terrorist checks to receive funding. It makes sense, doesn't it? Why wouldn't some of the most heroic people this country has seen also be waging a war against us?

Because that bill is "socialism" and they (Republicans) must do everything they could to prevent it from happening.
Funny how we praise (and use for political campaigns) the 9/11 First Respondents as heroes, yet treat them like 2nd class citizens.

It isn't a Republican v. Democrat thing and this is what our country needs to realize. We pit parties against each other, mainly the media, to allow for individuals to only approve or disapprove of an issue by whether an R is next to the bill or a D. We need to realize to focus on the issue at hand and how it affects us and our nation collectively and not if it's Republican or Democrat. Democrats and Republicans both propose horrid bills. I am a Democrat but I do agree with some Republican viewpoints. I believe there are Republicans who are liberal thinkers at times as well.
With that being said this is a terrible proposal. It's a smack in the fast to our first responders. I'd love to ask the Rep. who proposed this or anyone who agrees for that matter if we should make sure our military personnel should be subject to "terrorist checks" before we let them back into are nation or to receive their benefits.
