Mardi Gras - Houston?

I get in Tuesday into Houston, wondering if what (if any) is there to do for Mardi Gras in Houston.  I heard about Galvenston, but I don't think I can make it all the way down there....Looking for a nice bar, or something.  Is there a parade that goes on?  I'm staying around the Galleria....Thanks in advance..
