So before I thought kilgrave's ability was based on his voice but people have said it's because of his pheromones. So in the restaurant when he told everyone to be quiet not all of them were probably exposed to his pheromones but they all ahut up anyway.

Was anyone else getting a Claire Underwood vibe from Hogarth? Both like to be in a position of power and do not like to lose. Underwood is just more ruthless but we saw glimpses of what Hogarth will do when under pressure; stealing the dead fetus, saying if one can harness Kilgrave's powers, and their hair styles are almost identical
I turned to my wife when she first appeared and said "That chick from "The Matrix" looks and acts like Claire Underwood with darker hair".
