Wouldn't blame them for not including the Defenders as the event really will be packed enough as it is, but then I also thought that was part of why they wanted to split it into two films to begin with.
Defenders and Jessica Jones season 2 will be filmed back to back, says Krysten Ritter
Jessica Jones herself, Krysten Ritter, has revealed that Netflix's The Defenderswill be filmed "back to back" this year against her own second solo series.

The actress even hinted that any character from the Marvel Universe could make a cameo in the next instalment of Jessica Jones. Yes - any  character.

"I'm excited to see what happens next for Jessica, and the end of season one left a lot of doors open and questions unanswered," Ritter told Digital Spy.

"Kilgrave was her reason for getting up every morning. Saving people gave her purpose. I wonder how emotionally taxed she's going to be now. PREVIOUS ARTICLE

Imminent mini-super-series The Defenders  was announced last month, and will feature an ensemble cast of Jessica, Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones).

Filming hasn't yet started on either series, but…

"They'll be back-to-back. I don't know if they'll overlap a little bit," said Ritter.

"It's about to be a serious undertaking. I'm starting my physical training - lots of weight training and boxing."

As for Luke Cage's own solo outing on Netflix? It's just another cog in the Marvel wheel shrouded in secrecy, says Ritter.

"Marvel have this grand plan. Luke Cage  will come out, then Iron Fist. In terms of scheduling I don't know how it will all come out and I can't even tell you if I've filmed Luke Cage

"But I'm excited for Mike to have his own show. I know the tone of that show is going to be very different.

"We couldn't expose a lot of Luke's back story because he was getting his own show, so we explored him through Jessica's point of view.

"I think that helped give him mystery and tees up his show

End of Defenders needs to have Tony Stark and/or Coulson show up trying to recruit like the old days of the end credits in the MCU.

Dude, I'm seriously tired of the MCU movies constantly ignoring the Netflix characters

Does the Netflix characters even fit well in the MCU world though?  Like how would Daredevil survive and not die?  I think he'd be washed with ease against any of the 12 ppl in Civil War

He' survive just like how black widow and hawkeye do in those fights.

I'm wondering when is the next time we'll see nick fury make an appearance again.

DD can hold his own against Cap, Buckey, Falcon, BP, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and spiderman ( maybe ). Espicially in the MCU.  So far he's been the toughest SOB i've seen in a fight. He would get washed by Iron Man , War Machine, and Vision. But then again, who wouldn't?

If Hawkeye can stand with the Avengers than so can Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Daredevil. As to why, the first two should be obvious and therefore need no explanation. For Daredevil, let's not sleep on the **** he's been doing down in Hell's Kitchen. Don't get me wrong, the Punisher's performance may have very well stolen the show in Season 2. That prison hallway scene was the stuff of legend. Let's not forget some of Daredevil's greatest hits though

In terms of hand to hand combat this is just as impressive as anything Black Widow or Hawkeye has ever done.

Black Widow is way more trained than Daredevil like its not even close.  Hawkeye has unlimited arrows.  Daredevil is always banged up from street level henchmen.  Dude would be killed easily by anyone in Civil War

Unlimited arrows, ran out of arrows in Avengers. Ok. :lol

Agreed on Widow having better training, but the results speak for themselves. Hawkeye just straight up doesn't have the most impressive hand to hand feats. That doesn't mean he's trash or anything, but he's not more impressive than Daredevil. His arrows are his big trick and those are a finite source.

And this doesn't take Matt's enhanced senses into account, which are insane.

So far any of the netflix characters could easily replace Hawkeye. I don't know what you could be thinking.

DD takes on entire gangs, mobs, and ninjas on his own. That's why he's banged up by the end of the night and he usually wins. Hawkeye has never taken on a group of ppl in a fight. I could see BW doing that but she hasn't had a lot of the feats DD has had.

It's self explanatory for JJ and Cage. Cage probably the only human looking dude other than Thor that would shrug off a Cap kick or a uni-beam blast from IM. JJ has legit super strength. I gotta assume she's stronger than Cap.

It's honestly been more articles and rumors they won't be involved than the MCU movies having a chance to actually ignore them.

AOU was not going to mention DD. There may have been room to mention increased activity of powered individuals in NYC, specifically Hell's Kitchen. No way they were gonna start name dropping Jessica Jones and Luke Cage :lol

If anything I'm wondering why AoS hasn't even name dropped DD yet.

In a royal rumble Hawkeye would finish last. He's just the old guy that is on the court and hits some random threes. Everyone would wash him one on one but he gets by with excellent game management skills.

I agree on DD fitting in The Avengers.
Some of his fight scenes with ordinary goons show DD being rather slow tho.

Still don't ike JJ. Besides her being boring. She's super strong offensively, but not durable, defensively, doesn't make much sense from an anatomical view. Average weapons can stop her. Yet, she can make a hell of a landing without her knees giving out. Diesel puncher without hurting those tiny hands fractured as well.

Gave a chick a hand palm to the chest and killed her. I want to say she stopped a car.

Probably would need to rewatch to catch a feat displaying her strength at it's most impressive.

I'd say she is durable, just not indestructible so bullets can hurt her. Plus we don't know how super strength works with her body. It may not be a constant cuz then she'd be breaking everything she touches. She clearly has to focus and sort of summon that abnormal strength.

I would love to see the Netflix characters be at least acknowledged in the films. It would be nice to get cameos. Even if they're not part of the big fights. If they got Matt to represent someone in a courtroom after the CW fallout or having a Heroes for Hire advertisement would be kind of cool.

I don't understand wh Tony hasn't created minitiarized arrows so he can hold a ton more in his arsenal

Winter Solider #13

Cap came in to help him... AS ALWAYS.

Clearly his *** was getting washed but DD.

Yeah in one of the first episodes she lifted up a car to keep it from speeding off. Need to rewatch the series for more, but that alone is still beyond what an average human is capable of. Not the biggest fan of her comic counterpart, so my knowledge on her is lacking, but off the top of my head in the comics the character has actually lifted cars above her head and easily tossed them around, knocked over trees, and (similar to Cage's wife), easily knocked people clear across a room.

DD in the comics is massively better than the one in this series. Series DD is much more human than superhero
