In short, he has he was protecting his gimmick. I'm also willing to believe that WWE likely told him to let it "breeze over".
Also, there was a lot sideeyed stuff involved in that situation, along w/ the fact the Dream was 19 and those "victims" were 16 or 17. How that would make him pedo is beyond me.
I genuinely believe his career to have been ruined b/c certain ppl had ill intention, took advantage of a moment, and manipulated ppl unwilling to read, but willing to piggyback on a nonsensical hate train. They really tried painting him as a child predator & ppl ran w/ it.
