and by the way, while you may be right abotu Melo signing with NY as a FA, that New York team is not going to win anything. D'Antoni 8 second offense plus a bunch of star players that don't play any defense is not going to get you to the finals.
someone is mad. And D'Antoni was a hip check away from winning one a couple of years ago

Chris Paul has sent word to Carmelo Anthony that their most realistic opportunity to play together will be for the Hornets, according to a source.
New GM Dell Demps has been incredibly active in pursuing trade scenarios, according to multiple sources.

That Knicks team with Melo is still nowhere near the Heat, Celtics, Magic, or Bulls
I didn't include the Bulls because Denver isn't gonna take Deng and Gibson. They'd have to give up too much to still keep a very competitive teamOriginally Posted by you big dummy

But both would be significantly better than Denver...and there would also be a lot more stability with those two teams having core players locked up in contracts.Originally Posted by you big dummy

What I was trying to say was that if Knicks acquire Melo, that team still wouldn't be able to compete with the top 4 teams in the east.

Reading comprehension fail on my part.
I just assumed that those trade scenarios were to get cap room, since, like everybody said, the Hornets don't have anything attractive to offer.
