Has anybody ever mailed a non-working card off? If so how long did it take to hear anything?

I accidentally put it in my pocket with my phone and and it stopped working. Did the whole mail it to the MTA thing & now I'm going on almost 2 monthswith no reply. I'm feeling like I pretty much took the L. Lesson learned. But I just want to know if anybody has ever had a success story.

It takes like two weeks, but have you tried rubbing the metro card on your jeans? My card stopped working once after I had put it in my pocket with my phoneand the bus driver didn't want to let me just get on so he told me to rub it on my jeans to remove the static. Try that out first

REPLACEMENT CARD ARRIVED YESTERDAY! w/ all $35 on it

I had NO idea you could do this. I usually never fill my card past $10 or $20 anyways. But that's good to know.
