Cinco de Mayo is the day that the Mexican Army defeated the French Army; battle is important for 2 reasons.. France hadn't been defeated in 50years, and Mexico had like half the amount of soldiers. Also no country in the America has been invaded ever since Cinco de Mayo.
Cinco de Mayo is basically a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.
