Whats good NT any useful info would help thanks!

I live in Orlando Fl right now and got a job offer that I'm contemplating on accepting in Costa Mesa CA making 22/hr. I'm 23 no kids no debt (except car) no significant other. My lease is up in 8 months so thats why Im leaving then.

At the moment I work full time making $14.25/hr and a bartender part time at night and live pretty comfortable  I have my own place, car, stuff etc.

I have no CC's just 2 debit's lol

I guess my question is if I could make it on this type of income out there from what I have heard cost of living is pretty ridiculous. Does anyone know what I'm looking at for an apt in Costa Mesa or somewhere remotley close don't mind living in the outskirts. Any random info I need to know about CA or that area....How's the night life out there? How far is it from LA?

I plan on trying to get a bartending gig out there as soon as I touch down but dont know how long that could take....

Just at the point of my life where I need a change of scenery friends etc but honestly scared of failing so any good educated info yah could provide would be greatly appreciated thanks!!

depends on your lifestyle is...  i dont know how much you'll be making a month.  just to give you an idea, rent for a 1 bedroom apartment in a decent area of Costa Mesa is approx. 1400 a month.  You can probably find cheaper rent 1100-1200 near the Costa Mesa DMV, but IMO, it gets kinda sketchy there.  I'd stick to finding a spot near Bristol and Baker so you're near "Blends" (awesome sneaker shop, if not the best sneaker spot in this portion of Orange County).
Dont know how old you are, but Newport Beach is always going down.  However, that's the college crowd.

Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach have a couple clubs (Sutra and AVEC) that are pretty cool as well. I'm sure you'll be aiite if you make at least $3000 a month and you plan on just enjoying yourself out here. good luck!

U may find reasonable rent in Garden Grove or Santa Ana iF thats not too far of a commute for you!!

do you have any friends/family/contacts in the area? moving to a new city is exciting at first but can definitely be lonely. don't underestimate this fact.

its a long drive to LA.. and youre gonna take the busiest (worst) freeway traffic ever (405). In the morning commute, probably will take you 1.5 hours to get to your destination..

I live in Irvine, so about 5-10 min from Costa Mesa. A few things. 1- During holidays, stay away from south coast plaza, it's a nicer mall, but it gets busy quick. 2- You'll have easy access to the 405, but from the hours of 3-7, its basically a parking lot, at least on the weekdays.
3- You're really close to Santa Ana, a nice place, but there are parts of it that are suspect at best.
4- There's a nice center called the Lab and the Camp, good place for someone your age, it's got a few younger stores there (Buffalo Exchange, Urban Outfitters, etc.)
5- Two places you'll wanna check out when you get here food wise, TK Burger and Little Pickle Sandwiches. Trust me

If you have anything else you need, just PM me.
