Then doesnt that go against the principles of the bible (if your Christian). Your basically lying, saying you'll do something of such importance in Christianity and end up not doing it. Yea its "nice", but why sin just to make another person feel a lil better in that moment and time?

that's gotta be a rhetorical question, right?

Their intentions towards me are good.  I don't care if they are lying.  Why should I?  They said they'd pray for me and nowhere within that statement is there any malice towards me.  I don't believe in god.  I can still acknowledge and appreciate the goodwill of the measure.

Their intentions towards me are what is good.  I don't care if they are lying.  Why should I?  They said they'd pray for me and nowhere within that statement is there any malice towards me.  I don't believe in god.  I can still acknowledge and appreciate the goodwill of the measure.

Im not speaking about the person recieving the blessed prayer. Im talking about the person doing the so called praying or saying they will. Im just saying, why lie to the other person who may honestly need a prayer and is hoping for some prayers if your not going to do it. Yea it makes you feel good, but what does god think of the false intention. I mean, if someone says they're going to pray for me, I just dont take it as a good gesture, it should mean that person is honestly concerned about my situation and is trying to help me over come that obstacle in my life. A person lying to me is not a person of god but a lier.

I literally stop what I'm doing and say a quick prayer. When you have been doing it your whole life it ain't no thing at all.

some just say it because they think it's the right thing to say.

i'd rather not lie to the person, and wish them all the luck (if the person is alive) or tell them sorry for their loss.

Ive seen peoples say their prayers go out to someone who is already dead

...
I mean, what do you expect your "prayers" to do to someone who lost a love one, a dead person or someone is a life and death situation.
Do you really think GOD is gonna change the fate he's already set for the individual(s)?
or is it just the "in" thing to do to fill your own self gratification? To make yourself seem as if your a better person?

You're reaching and you answered your main point.

But of coarse I would say a small prayer before pulling the trigger

Yes, I did make that thread. And what relevance does that have with this threads topic?
