Working in freight brokerage is a great way to get into the industry. That said, it's gonna be a headache and a grind cause you're gonna piss your customers off when the actual asset based carriers you broker the loads to, fail to pick-up, deliver, etc, and because you're just a middle man, you really can't fix anything.
Brokers like these (Coyote, CHR, ATG, etc.) are notoriously cheap when it comes to base compensation, but if you can land a whale of a customer, you can def make money.
These companies usually have a fun young culture with a lot of fresh out of college kids, so it's a great way to meet people and work in a fast paced environment.
