D Will's attitude and CP3's knee (they completely removed his meniscus to speed up his return!) will prevent them from being high-impact players well into their mid 30's.  I know they're both great right now, but I feel like we're being force-fed "D Will is the greatest PG in the league" from the likes of Mark Jackson, Reggie Miller, Kenny Smith, and the same NBA marketing machine that's trying (and failing) to make me believe we need a Kobe-LeBron Finals.
Steve Nash is still the most successful PG in the league, which these playoffs have clearly shown.  Wish they would've released the Cradle Rock stateside... HD lows are trash (which is probably why Steve isn't rocking them).

D Will's attitude? Not calling you out or anything  but I never got the impression that he was lacking in that department.

I think, especially with CP's injury, why DWill is getting all the praise is due to him having the physique and athleticism that can get him places that the others can't. I won't exactly say we're being force-fed with the Deron praise, cuz he has proven to be a solid/top PG in this league but I do believe the talk of the best hasn't reached to that point yet where we should take it as the golden truth. Where all factors are concerned with the injuries to the other guards and age (Kidd and Nash), this is what makes his current exploits and potential speak louder than actual accomplishments. Nash is still very underappreciated since his last MVP trophy where praise is concerned but it's all about marketing as you say and wanting to push the next trend and fresh face- We'll be hearing more about Brandon Jennings and Stephen Curry whether we like it or not next year. It's just the way it goes I guess... So with the DWill being the best argument, for me its a True and False kinda situation...

His very public attitude about and after the Brewer trade... I'm pretty old school and think that professionals paid millions of dollars should keep their mouths shut and do their jobs no matter how bad stuff gets... I felt for D Will after the trade, especially given his freindship with Brewer, but c'mon.  Nash kept quiet when Shaq ripped him off on that "Versus" tv show idea, and when the Suns traded his best friend on the team, Raja Bell.

I thinks Deron is a great player, but he looks like he's been wearing a "can't wait for this to be over" expression during the playoffs this year.

I can't wait for the Curry-Jennings debate to pick up in the coming years, but something makes me think it will end up being a Ray Allen-Allen Iverson sort of debate.

You forget when Raja Bell and Boris Diaw were traded for JRich, Nash was public about losing his buddy, RBell. I used to live in Phoenix and people were pissed off at Kerr and sided with Nash on the trade. Hindsight, the trade worked out great for the Suns. No one miscontrued Nash's frustration for "attitude."  I don't think Deron's dissatisfaction with the Brewer trade can be summed up as "attitude," as well. The Jazz traded a good player and got nothing. So, as a leader, Deron showed some frustration. At the very least, it shows that he cares. I've seen far worse from players than what Deron demonstrated. But, people may want to look at it differently.

Offensively, Nash might be the best shooting PG I have ever seen. Though his defense can be suspect at times, the guy knows how to play and make his teammates better. The guy is a legend in my book.  I don't want to get in the best PG debate, but I'd take Nash or Deron over anyone in the league right now if I had one game to win.

to this day it STILL bothers me that nash is a back-to-back MVP, especially when you could say a guy like jkidd did a lot more in ALL facets Of the game for those nets final teams...so using the rationale that dwill and cp3 "will never do something like that" is a given because nash irrefutably has the 2 most questionable MVPs in recent history BACK-TO-BACK, and that definitely won't happen again...i understand that for a guard the 50-40-90 is remarkable but c'mon, your boy nashty averaged 15 & 12 in '05 & 19 & 11 in 06'...great numbers for a pg no doubt but not nearly mvp type numbers (john stockton pretty much did that throughout his career) and laughable compared to other multiple mvp winners numbers, much less cats that have won it back-to-back!!!

AND both dwill & cp3 aren't far behind with their numbers (with neither is the slouch on D that nash has been) that have played for good consistent winning squads, so why wouldn't they be able to get that recognition given that both are producing superior numbers at this point in their careers (aged 25 & 24 respectively)??? for someone to say that doesn't make sense because, because arguably those guys have reached a comparable level of success ALREADY! nash's MVPs were feel good MVPs, whether subconsciously because of the style of play, or even worse yet consciously due to circumstance, to me, it is no coincidence that the very years that nba had to deal with the worst image & public relations problems (malice in the palace, the kobe in denver deal, gun charges) that nash wins back to back MVPs...

when you look at all the pgs in the L today, dwill is probably the most complete (ever so slight nod over cp3 for athleticism, durability, & size); and given the number of really good guys at the 1, both young and old, at the position that says a lot...so it is overdue & well deserved attention he is getting now

RJ has been a disaster for the Spurs. Out of all the off season transactions, maybe the biggest disappointment after Hedo to Toronto. I was waiting for his !%! to come around one day... never did.  Get that out of here! Theme of the series! The Magic turned in their first ever franchise playoff sweep against the Bobcats and swept and mopped up the floor dry and clean with Atlanta in quick succession. They have now earned a historical accolade by being t he first team ever to have such a lopsided sweep in terms of point differential- 25.3! Get ready Celtics/Cavs!!!!

Why would you be bothered? We all know the MVP isn't given to the best player in the league. That would have gone to Jordan pretty much every year or Kobe or Lebron. I am a huge Jason Kidd fan - all the way back to hs high school days in the Bay area. In fact, if I had to choose which guard to lead a fast break, I would have a tough time choosing Magic over Kidd.  Having said that, Kidd couldn't make a jump shot when it counted. People used to call him Ason Kidd (no J).

Yes - he made players around him better (Marion, KMart, Kittles, Jefferson, etc.). In fact most of the aforementioned guys should give Kidd 1/2 their paychecks because Kidd made them look so good. Defensively, Kidd was better than Nash, as well. But offensively, Kidd doesn't compare to Nash. 50/40/90 is remarkable feat and the fact that Nash pretty much did that for nearly his career is amazing. I've seen Nash play basketball at a local Scottsdale gym, and it amazes me that this guy can do what he does. He doesn't look impressive in person and is rather gaunt. But, he just knows how to play. Let's be honest, his Phoenix Suns were consistently one of the best teams with only one real player (Stoudamire). Please don't consider Marion as a great player or Raja Bell or Boris Diaw. Like Kidd, Nash made Marion a good player. Marion couldn't create his jump shot then and he can't do it now. You take Nash from the Suns, they would be a lottery team. You can probably the same about Kobe and Lebron, and one can argue that. But, I don't have any problem with Nash winning and neither did a lot of voters.

The dust has settled and now the "MVP" (definitely not of this series) and his team are now staring elimination square in the face after falling 3-2 in an expected tight series. After giving Mike Brown a Shaq-Stan Van Gundy-like "Master of Panic" label after their Game 2 loss...the light from Brown's post game interview has definitely shone the brightest. Getting a thorough and rightful thrashing from the media, especially the world's beloved Charles Barkley saying he's "100% disappointed in Lebron" The King" and "Chosen 1" now has to stare himself real hard in the mirror and wonder how tough he is and how able he will be to get this story book season to where it should be...The NBA Finals, cultiminating in championship hardware....Anything else and it's a bust!

The Big Quatro! I've been rooting for Cleveland the whole season, on the East, along with the Nuggets on the West...but now, really...If they lose I would say it was well deserved. Some interview comments made by Lebron and some key and pointed critical analysis by a well respected reporter has made me realize that maybe that throne's seat was possibly a bit too high to climb, or a little too big to snuggle into. I'd still love to see them advance but this scare and possible demise from this series in particular really serves them right.

That, I believe is definitely a look of concern from the usually stoic O'Neal

C'mon dude you need to shake up! But on a brighter note...The Lebron 7 P.S. is doing marvellously in the NT NBA Playoffs Kicks bracket

A kiss from mom is definitely one of the only comforting things he could possibly get right now.

 Victorious....

I'm expecting Lebron to go down guns blazing in Game 6. Whether its his last game or not as a Cav, I am expecting to see fireworks....
