buc em buc em made a similar argument in the college thread. Last few rounds had great games, but he wanted the refs to rig the game in order for Duke to advance for TV ratings.

I sure as **** was on the edge of my seat watching the amazing Kyle Guy vs the stifling Texas Tech defense for the championship.

I have no idea why anyone seriously thought Houston had a chance in this series.

What made them formidable last year was that CP3 was still CP3. He very clearly took a step back.

They had the goat offense last year and got blown out in 3/7 games. Scoring champs don't win titles.
Not paid him 40 million a year. You can keep him but with the injury history and age being a factor you've severely handicapped your ability to improve the team. He's not a max player anymore. At least 10 mil per year less.

Nobody was giving him that contract. They outbid themselves. If it came down to it they would have been better off letting him walk. The optics would've been bad when it happened but they would've been a better team this year and the long run

CP3 is too chunky to age well during that contract term

Hamstrings and knee soreness as a result of his ***** ******* are inevitable

 No

And Darryl Morey is supposed to be this super smart, futuristic, crunch the #'s geek and gave that deal to a aging injury prone player.

Celtics in 6

Really the main difference from last year is Iggy is there and healthy. This is likely the same path the series would have taken last year if he played from jump.

Iggy must be extra motivated this year after hearing dudes talk reckless, insinuating that his injury in the WCF was inconsequential since he's "not as important" as CP3. can't overstate how significant the dude is to this team on both ends. defends harden/cp3 and the perimeter better than anyone not named kawhi, got them e.honda hands, probably the best transition offense they have outside of KD's dunks and steph's pull up, and always makes baseline cuts for lobs at the right time. his 3 point and FT shooting though :frown:

Bean sabotaged Tatum to some extent but oh well. He's just not a good iso player. And Bucks aren't going to help defensively off anybody really except Baynes. Their whole team relies on hitting perimeter shots at a ridiculous level kinda like Houston.
