Pros:
- Presentation - The game i'm playing is Cavs vs. Thunder and it's "Finals Themed" so the first thing I noticed was the intensity in the crowd and just how lively the crowd is in general population wise and audio.
- Graphics - This game looks amazing in motion and dare I say better then 2K15. The way the jerseys/shorts move and the faces are truly gorgeous. Body types on the players are spot on and are way better than 2K. Every player looks how they do in real life and not like a malnourished crackhead. My favorite visual aspect of the game so far is the free throw camera cuts, players look absolutely lifelike at the line with extremely realistic faces and creepy (in a good way) eyes that follow the ball and the rim before they shoot.
- Ragdoll physics - So far I haven't felt like I've been stuck in an animation once and it already has changed the way I usually play videogame basketball now I have beat my defender to a open spot and either pull up quickly or fade away either or I will get jammed in between a couple defenders with no where to go. Playing with Russell Westbrook and Reggie Jackson feel totally different and I felt off the bat that I didn't have the same offensive gifts when Westbrook was subbed out the game and had to play different
- Pick & Roll play - Running the P&R is a joy and is easily done by holding the L trigger. The roll man does exactly what you want him to do and if it's a good pass you should be rewarded with a dime or at least a makeable shot. Haven't experienced one frustrating or brain dead decision from the AI yet out of the P&R.
- Fastbreak - Yes Live has got the fastbreak game right and it's a joy to run especially with the freestyle passing, players run to spots on the court that their real life counterparts would run to making it way easier to finish a fastbreak with a score. Westbrook to Durant is unfair in Live just like it is in real life.
Cons:
- Commentating -Though it's vastly improved from last year it's still bland as hell and is completely overshadowed by the other stellar audio in the game (sneakers, crowd, etc.) easily the most lackluster part of the in game experience IMO
- Passing - This is probably my biggest gripe in the gameplay department. Passing on the fastbreak and out of the P&R is great but in a regular half court set the lack of animations shine through. Their is no reason why I should be throwing a bullet chest pest to my teammate who is literally 3 feet next to me it's just a weird and unpleasant site to see and definitely needs to be improved. It's a eye sore and something that's still prevalent in the other game also
- A Few wonky Animations - With the game going to a ragdoll based animation system alah Madden 15 you can expect a few wonky animations from time to time that look downright silly, I've played one full game so far and I've noticed two one where the trajectory of the ball was hilariously bad on a fadeaway and one where a defender looked like he was shot by a cannonball after being dunked on. Also shots seem to have zero variety, the rim barely moves. Nothing really game breaking but is somewhat of a minor concern.
- Controls - This might not be a con to everyone but I find the controls entirely too easy. The alley-oop button being mapped to a face button (B) has cheese written all over it and a hop step/euro step button still being in the game is a bit concerning also. I know Live and 2K aren't the same game and certain cheese doesn't cross over to both but I just feel like EA could've done a better job a little more difficult to pull off.
All in all i'm extremely impressed in what EA has only done in a year. Live 14 was an atrocity and from playing Live 15 for just a small amount of time it trumps it in every way imaginable. The game looks very good and in some instances amazing and is very fun to play but is expectedly held back from greatness by some weird animations , novice controls, and below average commentary. Is it a better game than 2K15 ? nope it isn't. Is it closer than it's been in ten years ? Absolutely. I fully expect Live 16 to be the best basketball game EA has ever created and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if it's the best basketball game on the market. Another year working with the physics engine , upgrading/adding new animations, and redoing the commentary from the ground will for sure make Live 16 an excellent title only thing EA has to do is make it happen and I actually have faith in them to do so after this impressive leap from 14 to 15.

EA Access Xbox One. 6/hrs of the full game usually a week before release also get a discount on all EA games on Xbox One. Think the games are like $52.99 for subscribershmmm..interesting. where'd you get the game? or demo?
My biggest take away, is that it doesn't seem that bad.
The size up/stationary dribble moves look great, but as soon as players start moving it kinda doesn't look so great and reverts back to the early Live animations that I hated on 360/PS3.
Its good to see they are taking steps forward, albeit small steps; I would still like to give it a try even if it is "2 years away, from being 2 years away".
If they dropped it to $30 it would be a day 1 buy for me. Instead I'll probably pick it up around black friday when gamestop does their buy 2 get one free deal.It looks like a step in the right direction,thing is EA had years before Live 14 to get it right, so they shouldn't be this far behind in the first place. Best thing they could do if they wanna gain fans for Live 16 is to drop the price to $30
