NBC employee claims Bill Cosby paid off women, invited young models to dressing room.

There's a problem with false rape accusations...

Maybe...but it's not exactly on par with the problem of rape victims being afraid to come forward.

I asked what is dude guilty of? You're blindly assuming he's guilty of rape and for what reason?

Because the media peddles these stories to you?

So, we're all just pawns of the media who are unable to form our own opinions?

The majority of people yes... For the most part we only get upset or riled up when the media tells us to do so.

I don't care if it were 100 women claiming rape. The fact that this entire witch hunt began from a joke in a standup...is enough to tell me that there's something else at play here.

The allegations predated this year. It's only now people are taking it seriously. Why weren't they credible in 2000 or 2004?

What makes you believe there are ulterior motives? I find it sad it took a man to reiterate Cosby's rape allegations for there to be any outrage in the first place. I don't know if the outrage even existed back in the early 2000's when the allegations first came out. Why is that?

There was no twitter in 2004.

Memes weren't posted on everyone's IG in the early 2000's

Let me add this:

You mean to tell me TWENTY-SEVEN women (and counting) have been keeping these secrets this long and only now feel comfortable coming forward? The ones that claimed they did go to the police...you mean to tell me that not ONE of these accusations stuck all these years?

That's not what I'm getting at, but you have a point.

Why were these witness testimonies in the early to mid 2000's not taken seriously until now? The lack of social media is not the sole reason of this.

So Twitter is the new public court now?

It has THAT MUCH power that it could bring to light....DECADES of accused rape? If it weren't for Twitter...these 27 women couldn't have forward?

This is incredible if so.

Does anyone else know of ANY other situation where social media helped to solve decades long unsolved crime?

The fact that you think that's where it began is enough
SO enlighten me then.

When did this public witch hunt of Bill Cosby pick up?

When did Bill start losing sponsorships and had projects pulled because of these accusations?

How come one of the biggest celebrities of all time wasn't in the News for all of these accusations?

It's the main of the reason IMO

Cosby is being more vilified by people on social media than in the real world... People still go to his shows and **** with him heavy

I don't think this is really being taken as seriously in the real world than it is online than you seem to think, because there's almost no ground for these women to stand on.

People at TV stations were aware of his behavior and warned female staff to be "careful" around him...

This stigma existed since the 80's it was just kept on the low because of his status...

Most of the women aren't even trying to sue or press charges.

I wouldn't send him to jail without a trial and actual evidence, but my opinion of him is that he is a serial rapist.

30 years ago women were in the kitchen nobody listening to a chick, especially not about something pertaining to sex

Today we are in the middle of the feminist movement

.. not that hard to figure out why the response today wasn't the same before

Does anyone in this thread understand that rape victims have a hard time remembering their experiences, let alone retelling them? Victim blaming is the reason why some haven't come out until now. When someone tries to tell you that YOU are at fault for being raped I could understand not wanting to say anything at all. Most rapes go unreported because of this.

People tend to suppress traumatic events in their lives. That is what is happening here.

It's like I'm beating a dead horse here. I don't know how many times I have to say it, but I will keep repeating myself until you folks realize it.

I'm thoroughly convinced some of you dudes are 100% convinced this guy is not a rapist, even if he raped a woman in front of your eyes you wouldn't believe it.

Hasn't publicly commented on it (not even trying to defend himself) and settling out of court when he was on trial for it. I don't know about you, but that screams red flag to me.

victor page the type to stay defending the megachurch pastor even after they find him sending naked texts to boys..

If a rapist uses a condom, how does a woman prove rape? Just curious

After that we just gonna have the "there's just evidence they slept together not that he forced her" crew

 Spare me the Lifetime ********.

Kobe Bryant was accused of rape and settled out of court with one woman...and the whole word watched.

So you're telling me that Bill Cosby...allegedly did the same thing MULTIPLE times...and this somehow managed to be severely underreported in Mass media.

Really?

Bill Cosby's level of influence makes Kobe look like a peasant.
Exactly...

So how does a guy who's been an influencer longer than Kobe's been alive...manage to duck public execution?

If Bill Cosby died at any point in the last however many years....that **** would have been on the front page of every newspaper, covered on every major tv station in the world. Being accused of rape multiple times...somehow managed to avoid even minor coverage on both?

1. It's BEEN known throughout the entertainment/comedy world that there were allegations towards Cosby for the longest. But they were just allegations at that point.

2. The reason why more and more women are speaking up is now there is a platform for them to. They voice has been given credability because there's people listening/the share number of women coming out. Not saying that 100% of them are telling the truth, but even if one of these girls are speaking the truth, then Cosby has some explaining to do.
