NBC's Community Thread - 6/2 - Ep. 13: "Emotional Consequences of Broadcast Television"

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Dan Harmon would be highly considered to be brought back on board since Chevy is out of the picture. No more arguments, off camera tension, etc. However....From Uproxx.com "I have heard from a friend of an unnamed cast member, in fact, that the cast felt some sense of relief when Dan Harmon was fired because it would mean less drama and unpredictability on the set."

Also if NBC decided to not continue with it. there were other networks willing to pick it up.

In other news, glad we can all enjoy another season. Just for kicks, I'm popping in the season 1 dvd and start from the beginning.

I saw that too but I won't hold my breath... Chevy and Dan didn't get along, but I've read Dan was fired because he was a terrible showrunner, not because of Chevy. Difficult, always late or pushing things to the last minute, etc.

Taken from Reddit..

Remember who Shirley played in their Pulp Fiction party?

I'm so happy dog. I pray they go back to different timelines. I love that ****!

More Allison Brie? YESSSSSSSS :hat :hat

Britta sexy *** too but Annie :hat

I hope NBC cancels it after this 5th season, which I'm sure it will. Then Netflix can pick it up like they did with Arrested Development, which is getting one season and a movie.

That way we get our 6 seasons and a movie :smokin

....Wishful thinking :lol

Yea, why not :lol. I know I'm sounding really stupid right now, but I mean, NBC has never really pushed the show. I know they just renewed it, that proves some faith in them, but like why not have it handed over to a studio that would take good care of it until its guaranteed its final course instead of waiting for it to be on the cusp on cancellation and then grace it with an unpleasing ending. I know its easy to say that, I'm aware of all the budget stuff, pre and post production time and behind the scenes politics within the studios. I don't know, made more sense in my head I guess. As the whole "6 seasons and a movie" began to take on a life of its own, I just grew to wanting to see it end that way....Like I said though, it all made more sense in my head :\

The best case scenario is the ratings on the Comedy Central reruns are really strong that maybe they place an order for another 10-12 episodes.

Assuming they don't add more episodes to the 13 eps order, they'll be at 97 in total... which would be plenty for Sony (the production company) to be done with the show and let it rock in syndication.

I think NBC is really gonna push Community now. With The Office out of the picture and other shows like whitney & 1600 penn, Community becomes one of their biggest returning shows

Yea...Big Bang Theory got a big bump in the ratings after people caught reruns on TBS.

The dream scenario would be now that Chevy Chase is gone, Dan Harmon somehow comes back. And since 30 Rock and The Office are gone, Community gets a full season without the fear of the rug getting pulled out from under them, since NBC is bad at new things.

NBC cancelled all of their new sitcoms and their focus last year was to go broader and away from shows like Community... so clearly that idea failed miserably :lol

I've said it before, yeah they jerked the show around this year and Harmon left, but if this show was on Fox we would have been lucky to get 2 seasons.... getting to 5 would have been a miracle.

Basically. Also immediately goes out on dvd/blu ray.

Despite being so happy if it happened I'd feel sorry for whoever produced a Community movie. No way you break even.
