I've been wanting to mount my tv on the wall for a while but was always turned off by the work needed to hide the cables. Any recommendations would an electrician be my best bet? BTW just mounting in my room to save some space. If you have any experience please share.

Thanks

I have a TV mounted on my wall, if you have a HDMI port you shouldn't need any wires.
Just you power plug & HDMI cord to the cable box/PS/Xbox.

rfx45 rfx45 . That'd be perfect don't really care that much since it's in my room, but I'm a neat freak when it comes to cables dangling. Good looks.

I'll check into an HDMI port. Just wasn't down to drill holes in the wall and all that.

Yeah only downside, just be sure that's where you want it. You can get a mount that moves left to right. I know people like to move their sofa/bed. You can always have those holes filled up & repainted in case you change your mind.

Huh

He's saying he would only need two wires running, the power cord and HDMI out to the device he's connecting to.

That's assuming he doesn't have multiple devices connecting through HDMI which in that case a HDMI splitter could be used.

Get the wall mount where you can move the tv in almost every direction.

It's 360 degrees full articulation or something like that.

That's if you like to watch your tv from different viewing angles.

These are so dope.

Bump.

Do NTers put up their own wall mounts?
Tryna see if I get a homie but I'm looking at this like I want to try this **** myself.

Yes - I will tip the homie if I go that route.

A stud finder & drill is all you need. Pretty straight forward as long as you know how to use the stud finder. The only tricky part might be hanging the TV on the mount.

Don't forget a level, tho the mount I have came with a level built in. But yeah, as others said, it's fairly simple n takes about 10-15 min

How big is your TV? If it's not too large, you can get away with a single arm mount (so you just mount it to 1 stud instead of 2).

I have something like this one in my room, a slightly larger version for my 32", got it for $30-40 a few years back:

Monoprice has really cheap wall mounts (and cable wiring accessories):

Check the video on the bottom on how to fish the wire through your wall:

It's very easy to do yourself, maybe just need a hand to hang and center your TV onto the mount.
