Hit your starter gently with a hammer or rubber mallet. It'll fix it temporarily. Promise.
I'd avoid doing this unless you're 100% sure its the starter and its the difference between being stranded or possibly being on your way. Most starters today use permanent magnets inside. When you tap the side of the starter you can damage these making the starter unrepairable. Had OP did this he not only would be replacing his battery but probably his starter too.
Update, after all, it was the battery and I ended up getting the battery from GM for $140.. So all of this is now over.. Thank god..
