In Australia, "****" (pronounced "****", as in "bunt") has many connotations – most of which are actually positive. For example:

If a friend of mine were to be exceptional at motorsports or a nice person in genera,l he would henceforth be referred to as a "sick-****". (pronounced "sick" as in "lick" and "****" as in "bunt".)

And no, "****" does not end there! This once frowned-upon "curse word" has been embraced by the Australian people as the suffix to end all suffixes. Play around with it and try it for yourself.

Likely conversations include:

"Hey man, you going to Liz's party?"

"Nah-****."

Translated:

"Hello friend, are you going to Elizabeth's party?"

"No thank you, sir."

Nah, it's still pretty taboo in the U.K. - if there was such a thing it would be a class A swear word. There isn't a lot else you could say that would be more offensive.

Australians have always been a bit more loose with language and I guess the meaning has been diluted if they're using it as an official slogan for a large part of the country.
