VERY APPRECIATED.

One of the very few songs that gives off a vibe when it plays.

The beat that put me on Cool and Dre. This joint is sooooooooo cold and raw.

Takes me back to '02 and '03.

I get chills just even thinking of how raw this track is.

track does go hard but looking back now,

@ Fat Joe being on it...if Ja didn't have beef with him, I would have rather had Busta...or Nas or Ghost

I was raised in NY but live in MA now and
smh.gif
@ the lames who were magically repping NY when this song was hot...n's were banging it as their ringtones anddudes suddenly had the accent...

mind you, some of these n_'s were the same dudes who were jumping on the Red Sox bandwagon in the playoffs and screaming "F NY" through thehallways at school...

I can't front, this song was hot. Just funny how one man was able to pretty much dead all of these guys careers.

A funny thing bout this video....

It officially brought back that army fatigue look and it really brought back da hoodie+vest combo that was absent since da early 90's.......

This line to me was

"I'm not cocky I'm confident so when you tell me I'm the best It's a compliment"

End of 2004.

This followed by "Hate It Or Love It" really put Cool & Dre on the map.

They should all get together and make an album together since:

- Fat Joe's not selling by himself.
- Ja Rule's album not coming out anytime soon.
- Haven't heard from Jada in a while.

But yea this song and video was the anthem when it came out. Part 2 was good too.

After watching this video again... couple of observations

1) This is a dope song. I'm pretty sure every New York rapper was thinking to themselves "Damn, why didn't I think of that" after hearing it.

2) If Ja Rule couldn't make a comeback after THIS SONG, he should have known to hang it up and stick to acting.

3) Fat Joe kinda sounded like a NY rapper/himself, and not a pudgy version of Lil Wayne on this song (see intro to Elephant in the Room).

4) The worst thing Fat Joe or Jadakiss could have done is been in this video with Ja Rule.

5) IRVING LORENZO is a 2nd rate Diddy, hopping in this videos, dancing, throwing up signs.

6) There needs to be more music like this.

They should have been thinking to themselves, "Why didn't I think of that after hearing '100 Guns' from KRS-1," sincethat's where Ja got the chorus from.

this was my !%$@... I was in Cali at the time this came out and I was the only dude in the club from NY... I got real ignorant that night
