News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

Saw The Wolverine in theaters and was like eh...the after credit scene is the best part of the movie
I thought the movie was good. I just don't like how lately it seems the love interest in marvel movies end up saving the day. The ending credits scene got me hyped though for DoFP. :smokin

Actually thought Wolverine was pretty good. Silver Samurai was pretty lame and I didn't like the sidekick chick but the central Wolverine story was cool.. Huge improvement from the first one

Report: BRUCE WAYNE to Be Regular Cast Member On Fox’s GOTHAM

A 10-year-old Bruce Wayne, that is…

TV Show Auditions is reporting Friday that pre-teen Bruce is among the roles currently being cast as series regulars on Fox’s upcoming Batman ‘prequel’ TV series Gotham.

The show has already received a straight-to-series commitment with The Mentalist creator Bruno Heller serving as executive producer, head writer, and showrunner.

As previously announced Gotham will explore “the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon and the villains who made Gotham City famous.”

According to Deadline at the time of the series announcement, Gordon is still a detective with the Gotham City Police Department and has yet to meet Batman, who will not be part of the series. However, TV Show Auditions reports the series will center on “Gotham City PD rookie homicide detective James Gordon who investigates the double murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne," putting the show firmly in the formative years of Bruce Wayne’s youth and the Batman mythos.

"Set in the early days of James Gordon's police tenure, when he meets a boy named Bruce Wayne..." the casting call description on the series reportedly reads.

If accurate, it would almost certainly follow Alfred would be among the regular cast members as well.

Shooting on the pilot will reportedly begin in March. No roles have been cast as of Friday, TV Show Auditions reports.

Cool. I don't mind young Bruce showing up, being a regular though would be weird. Can't have him secretly solving all the crimes revealing his boy genius. I say have him show up in the beginning and the end of the season we see a paper saying he left the country to go overseas.

that spiderman 2 trailer was all over the place in a bad way... turrrible...

they cast a cathy dennis look alike for harry osborne?

why it sound like tobey maguire was narrating in the beginning?

jaime foxx looking like a blue mike tyson :{

Wolverine was ok. Man so much potential but some stuff is so cheap looking. Like that village before the silver samurais tower.

Just wished they would have saved it for the actual movie. Telling us so far ahead of time has me worried

With all this time in between there is still room for change. I mean they at least have to wait for the response of DoFP, right? Right?

A negative response to the movie won't really change their plans. It's going to make a lot of money like always. We'll watch it and then complain afterwards. I'm expecting some cool parts and the rest to be a ****show.

If that spoiler about how Apocalypse enters the story is true, I don't like it. Who the hell approved that idea?

just read the apocalypse spoiler since i could give a rat's *** about Fox's X-men.... and it's looking like they already butchered him just like they butchered galactus. It sucks that no matter how ****** the movie is, it's gonna make alot of money which is the only thing that's pumping more BS from fox. We will most likely never see the xmen series done with justice, atleast not anytime soon.

"Hear me Galactus. They call me Ghost Rider, I am summoned when innocent blood is shed. And you have shed much innocent blood." :hat :x :{ ...... :rollin

How about focusing on not butchering the franchise before they toss in one of it's iconic villains?

their first problem was bring back singer.. obviously the director of the first 2 movies wouldnt want to completely disregard them

they needed to start with a clean slate.. and try to tackle someone like juggernaut.. hell, do magneto again

they need to properly set up the world where the mutants are being hunted and vilified in society.. and the x-men have to protect humanity while also protecting themselves (so you have the x-men fighting sentinels and all that with magneto thrown in).. then you have the malcolm x of the mutants in magneto.. then you can introduce juggernaut who has his beef with his half brother

and on the 3rd movie THEN you try and tackle DOFP or apocalypse.. then you can do the phoenix saga properly

That is essentially what they are doing. DofP will reset the universe, DofP will mainly be from the First Class time, McKellan already said he doesn't go back to the past and the old cats role is mainly just int he beginning and to set-up the events for the past.

With the "rumored" extra credit scene, looks like DofP will end by stopping the Sentinel program and it'll pick-up with Magneto/Fassbender in the present (which used to be the past)? So that pretty much resets or retcons the past transgressions and events of the prior films. Hell we might even see a young and alive Jean and Cyclops at the end of DofP, just got to wait and see where it all goes.

And look, I hate Singer as much as the next guy especially for what he did with Superman Returns but X1 and X2 were good. Yes many doesn't think it stands well today but many other do and those who do not think X1 or X2 are any good today, also feels almost all comic book films from 10 years ago are dated so there really are no pleasing everyone anyway. Singer had nothing to do with X3 or Wolverine Origins, First Class was well done, not perfect but it was fine.

We really need some optimism here, you can see in the DofP thread that I think this will eb a clusterf*ck and that Singer will bring disaster to an already sinking franchise but I will watch with low expectations and give it a chance.

^ i just think all of that is unnecessary (especially when you are using one of the great story arcs to do the dirty work).. they should have just gone with a clean break.. and reestablish things..

then you can use the DOFP story line somewhere between movies 3-5.. 1 and 2 should be about introducing guys to the already established team, them fighting sentinels, magneto and juggs

and i dont mean in an "the amazing spider-man" type of way where they retell the story all over again.. we know the characters, we can start in a world where the base x-men are together and exist in this horrible world where they suffer for simply being born different

Easier said than done and it's too late now especially since First Class pretty much started all over again and now, they are trying to combine both worlds. Fox didn't plan these out like Marvel did but it seems like they do now, which is what everyone wanted. Fox has 2 XMen films now, a Deadpool film in the works along with more Wolverine sequels (depending on what they do with Wolverine in DofP) and an XForce film and it looks like all could link to each other. This is what everyone wanted and they are doing it, it is the beginning of a long process for Fox and I think they should at least get some credit for trying instead of churning out random films that doesn't coincide with the past films and see that is again another problem, even comic book fans loathed that Origns was very inconsistent with the past XFilms and how First Class didn't feel like a prequel to those older films too and by watching, you should know that it is wasn't meant to be but people still complained. That is why they cannot simply make an XMen film out of nowhere that in no way relates to the past films with a whole new cast, it'll just be a bigger problem than trying to solve it.

Not sure if it belongs here but I am happy about this news, I felt Jack Reacher was a bit underrated, I enjoyed the film.

Tom Cruise Set To Return As JACK REACHER In Adaptation Of NEVER GO BACK

Deadline has confirmed that work is indeed now moving ahead on a sequel to 2012's Jack Reacher. That movie went on to earn $218 million worldwide on a budget of only $57 million, and a follow-up has been put on the fast track with the studio already looking for writers. They're apparently hoping that Christopher McQuarrie will direct, but he obviously can't write this one as he's too busy preparing for Mission Impossible 5. According to the site, "This one will be based on Never Go Back, which was published earlier this fall. In it, Reacher heads back to his old military based in Virginia to take a woman to dinner who is now the commanding officer. By the time he gets there, she has been arrested and Reacher finds himself being charged with pummeling one guy, and fathering a child with a woman. He can’t remember either transgression, but gets to the bottom of it with cunning and sometimes brute force."
