News On Future Films Based on Comics/Paranormal/Sci-Fi

Im not saying run with it. Not something I care about enough to even google where I might've found it. I don't care how good the source is. Most of these things don't come true anyway. A rumor comes out. I reflect on it. I go back to my daily activities.

Well then I respectfully ask that you do not post about it then? I mean you care enough to type about it, it takes the same amount of time to google it and get a source?

I've never heard or read an indestructible Hulk film or most of the other "rumors" you posted to be honest.

This isn't a knock on you, it really isn't but to keep the thread clean and consistent, just have the source when you feel like it is relevant enough to be posted or just simply move on and go about your daily activities as you said.

20th Century Fox Summons Magic: The Gathering

20th Century Fox has today tapped an undisclosed number of lands to gather the collective Mana necessary to summon a Magic: The Gathering feature film. The Hollywood Reporter has the news, bringing word that the studio will adapt the popular Collectible Card Game (CCG) for the big screen. Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class) will provide the screenplay.

The seconds it took for me to type it. You are right. I'm not sure if I have enough time to do that again.

You can respectfully ask. I will respectfully decline.

You two must be nt archenemies with the way you go back and forth all the time in this thread.

RFX is right though. Sources are always appreciated, otherwise anyone could just post any random "rumor".

btw, rumor is that Marvel is getting the rights back to all XMen characters after the Apocalypse movie and Spiderman after ASM4 :smokin

I understand people want Pym because he invents Ultron, but I thought they were going with Iron Man creating him now? If that's the case, all Pym needs to do is create his suit and particles and he's good, which seems to be what will happen here.

With Douglas being pym, they can still have him create ultron.. Just have him as scientist working with/for shield in his old age

AntMan comes out after Avengers 2 though so he really do not need to be involved in creating Ultron unless he makes a cameo in A2. I guess they can show a flashback in AntMan of him being involved in someway with Ultron with SHIELD? Seems pointless at that point though but I guess it's a way to connect him to the team?

With him being so old, it could be a way to get pym involved with the team as just a scientist.. And not have to suit up and be an actual member

I'm more interested in what his personality adds to the team as the main guy who was portrayed as a pacifist.. Admittedly I'm not eager to see him or wasp's superhero abilities depicted on screen

However, I did like the point of view he gave.. And the struggle he went through having created ultron

They could easily have him as a guy looking for some sort of redemption after losing his wife (refer to the hitting stuff) which then leads to his building of ultron for shield

This would be amazing if true...

EXCLUSIVE: Marvel Eyeing JOHNNY DEPP For ‘Dr. Strange’

Posted on 1.14.14 by Mario-Francisco Robles

EXCLUSIVE:

Hey all,

Those of you that follow me on Twitter (@LatinoReviewMFR) know that I’ve been teasing all night about a scoop regarding Marvel. Well, it’s now time to open up the bag and show you all my first big kill:

A well-connected source informed me tonight that Johnny Depp has taken a meeting with Marvel to discuss taking on the role of Dr. Strange.

The 50-year-old actor is a comic book fan, and is said to be very interested in jumping onto the Marvel machine. Johnny Depp also happens to have a very fruitful relationship with Marvel’s owner, Disney. It was the mouse house, after all, that took a gamble when it gave the eccentric actor his first leading role in a summer tentpole, Pirates of The Caribbean, and that franchise went on to earn billions (yes, with a “b”) for the studio. He also made them a mint with their live-action Alice in Wonderland film.

While they have Depp on the hook for another Pirates film, it is believed they would shift that production around if he does agree to sign on the dotted line for Marvel.

As you can tell, Marvel is in the megastar business and, despite Lone Ranger, Depp is still one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. He’s a household name that’s known by kids, teens, and their parents. On Monday, it was announced that Hollywood royalty Michael Douglas was cast as Hank Pym in Ant-Man, and- assuming they can work out the details- an announcement about Depp could be forthcoming.

Of note, if Johnny Depp does decide to don the cape, it would involve a bit of a script overhaul. I spoke to El Mayimbe, and he was quick to note that the original script had a 30-year-old Dr. Strange. He has an intimate knowledge of the script (you can check out his in-depth analysis HERE and HERE), but he agrees with me that Marvel wouldn’t hesitate to alter things if it meant signing a star on the level of Johnny Depp.

To be clear, this would have no bearing on Marvel’s Phase 2 plans, or The Avengers: Age of Ultron. This is strictly Phase 3 stuff, with Marvel initially eyeing 2016 as the year to unleash Dr. Strange on mainstream audiences. So if it happens, the soonest we’d likely see Depp is in a post-credits sequence in Ultron.

Also thought I’d mention that my source, when it was mentioned how Depp has been a fanboy casting favorite for Strange for quite some time, implied that thatmay be one of the elements that brought the two sides together.

As always, though, let me remind you that this is Hollywood. Plans change. Offers expire. Negotiations stall. So while Depp has met with Marvel, and both sides wantthis to work, it doesn’t mean it will.

Keep an eye on this space as I get my hands on more details, and let’s see if these two giants of the industry actually come to terms and make a deal, or if it falls apart in a back room somewhere.

The way things are going, I FULLY expect to come in here someday and read "Daniel Day Lewis set to star in Incredible Hulk re-make". :lol

"Meryl Streep the next Catwoman?". :lol

Awesome times ahead.

I like Depp on almost anything (almost) but I am not sure he is good as Doctor Strange, he has the look and he doesn't look his age and he can probably pull it off but I don't know, I am not 100% sure he'd be my number 1 choice.

I just do not see the point for that plot unless they reveal it in Avengers 2, it'll be too much of a mystery on why and how Ultron got created I guess?

And to be honest, I don't think he'll even be in Avengers 3, it'll likely be all Scott Lang/Rudd by the time they get to that third film so we likely won't even see Pym with the team.

I'm not a fan with the idea/suggestion that they go with stark as the creator

Obviously whoever creates ultron has to be in avengers 2 or at least be referenced as some sort of Easter egg.. And it has to be someone extremely smart.. I'm just a fan of what was supposed to be done with the very best of intentions (with a very idealistic mentality) backfiring horribly

Who else do you think would be a good fit?

Another speculation with Ultron is that SHIELD created him, in WInter Soldier, there are some bots or armor for SHIELD agents and if that has an AI like JARVIS then Ultron might evolve from it? That could also be SHIELD hacking Starks tech with the AI so that he gets some of the blame? Just a guess. They already stated that Winter Soldier will kick-off the Avengers sequel so that is my best guess.

As for who to play Dr. Strange, I am not sure but like stated in the article the script has to be changed because the initial script is suppose to be in his 30s and if they are indeed going to follow their plan of making Strange the new Stark (the guy in the middle of it all or interconnect to everyone) then I am not sure a 50yr old Depp is the best choice. Again he does look younger for his age but that'll still show especially since Doc Strange is set to come out in what, 2016 or 2017?

To be honest, I'd really like Cumberbatch as Strange, I think he is a great choice and 12-14 years younger too. Maybe he got offered a Star Wars role so he can't commit to Marvel?

I figured they would go the shield route with it..

Since fury gets past the alarms/Jarvis in the first iron man.. Black widow is Tony's assistant in iron man 2 and is able to hack the system to give Rhodey control of his armour.. And colston overriding the system in avengers

Just like the story behind pym creating ultron and the directive given being severely warped
