it says you're a weak-minded individual who sees resorting to base situations in base ways. if you see that as the end all be all, then you're just as complacent and complicit in the behavior that culminated with the kind of "culture" found in situations such as this one

any other questions?

Yeah, where did you get your psychology degree? Weak minded individual :lol another go to response for NT. This thread is starting to fill up with estrogen with quips like this. This anti bullying stance is just wild and a bit dramatic.

i explained myself very well and succinctly and you come back with "estrogen-related quips"

you're not doing yourself any favors by continuing in this debate with me

@Rell Cmon now stop it. Kids get bullied in HS every single day and it resorts to them committing suicide. We don't know with Martin but clearly Incognito was tormenting him....calling it dramatic and smelling like vagina :{. What the hell did you want Martin to do? He told the damn coach who clearly is a hypocrite and a flat out liar. It doesn't make anyone any tougher for saying how others are soft and weak and fragile.

And throwing someone in a cold tub is NOWHERE near this level of abuse. Why do you keep bringing up these hypotheticals? :lol Why do you care about those? Prince doesn't have the same perosnality or mentality as martin clearly and different people react differently than others. And maybe just maybe the guys on the Giants actually have some kind of a filter/know when to quit it and don't act like complete scum to their own teammates and torment them and threaten to murder their family and racist insults and who knows how much else went down.

Besides 99 times out of 100 dudes like Incognito are the ones with the actual problem and are compensating for some insecurity by attacking others who didn't do jack to them

Another hypothetical...

If Prince Amukamara blew the whistle on JPP and said he was bullied for getting thrown into the cold tub last year for being soft (they clearing weren't playing or joking either)...

Would we be calling him a sucker? or would we calling him a victim and calling for JPP's head?

Prince did nothing back...just like Martin. Only difference is that Prince didn't get to the point where he snapped and left the team. I do remember people calling Prince a sucker for not fighting back tho. Personally, I do see some parallels between the two situations.

*If Martin's coaches didn't have his back, what else could he have done? I'd almost guarantee Igcognito was waiting for him to swing so he could destroy the guy. This guy was a target for a reason.

Kinda wild how some dudes in here trying to take this in light or justify it. :{

They're just real men! Hair on their chest and everything! They'll fight any fight as long as it's on the internet!

Fighting would've got him cut or black balled

I agree.

It's never as black and white as he either stands up for himself or else he's sensitive and a wuss ball. Really put yourself into that situation the best you can...Imagine this is happening and the entire organization just turns their back on it as if it is completely acceptable. Now, he knows he's either forced against his will to pay for things and do things and take verbal abuse or if he seeks someone out to help, he's look at as soft. He doesn't want that obviously, so the only out presented to him wasto either take the abuse or go AWOL and separate himself from those turning his backs on him. To me, that takes more courage than standing up for himself by using physical agression, because if he did do that, then the team probably tells hims to pay his dues and deal with it or something silly. He then again is still looked at as sensitive and a hack. This incident just shows that there is a clear lack of leadership in that locker room and quite possibly the organization.

It happens all the time, but the locker rooms with real leaders do not ever let it get to this point. Gauranteed.

i think its funny that you know all about me, yet i have no clue who you are nor do i care do.

but hey an nfl locker room and some dude trying to come to your personal property popping off because you smashed his girl are the same thing in your eyes i guess.

i don't get what i said was so bad.  i said incognito is a scumbag.  martin should've stood up for himself though.   terrible situation all around and i feel bad for the guy.  but standing up for himself like how dez bryant did to roy williams his rookie season would've avoided alot of the problems here at hand,

I didnt ask you about your personal info but you chose to display it for the NT community. I was only pointing out your flawed logic. By the way, different circumstance but same result. You both chose to seek a different outlet rather then tackle the problem head on, face to face.

And I think the arguement at hand is how capable a person, dealing with mental issues, is supposed deal with that controntation.

You brought up Dez, but the problem is that the guy in question isn't Dez. In a mental standpoint.

Sorry fellas, in short Incognito and his father are crud.

This situation and Prince Amukamara are two opposites. The Prince situation was a couple people messing around because he was a rookie. This situation is a jackass finding someone weak and scared of any type of altercation. To go out and punk a grown man is pathetic. I do agree a grown man should be able to stand up for himself but Incognito is a real pile of **** for this. No grown man needs to act like a 15 year old. Absolutely disgusting, I hope he doesn't play in the NFL again.

i mean, you don't see the irony in you "reporting" someone whose comments on a messageboard hurt your feelings, yet you're advocating for another person to stand up for themselves when they're accosted on a continual basis in much worse ways? you're a funny dude
there's a thing called a code of conduct on here.    rather then get in a back and forth pissing match with some member on here who's not worth it and get warnings, suspensions, banned usernames etc, i rather just save the hassle and put that report button to use.

if the board wasn't as strict as it is then it's fair game for me to violate him but since it isn't i'm just playing by the rules of this board.

and it's a big difference to standing up to someone bullying you in real life as opposed to stuff said on a messageboard.  anything i post towards him or vice versa isn't that big a deal in the bigger picture of things but to the powers that be on this board it is.

lets keep this on topic about football though please.

Is the only way some of you give Martin a pass is if he he has a mental illness? And has it been made certain that Martin is in fact suffering some sort of mental illness? Just asking because haven't heard anything definitive to this point except that he was placed on "non-football illness" list. I don't think that neccessarily means too much at this point. The NFL may not have an exact protocol for this.

fair enough but you choose to dig through my posts. i could care less about going through your post history and looking up incidents that happened in your life if you so choose to put them on here.

did i not say that i feel bad for the guy?  did i not say that incognito and his pops are terrible people?  i made it clear that he deserves whatever punishment and negative backlash that he gets from this.

i mean i see why he handled things the way he did but at some point as a man, where do you draw the line and say enough is enough?  where's your pride in yourself.   sometimes taking that buttwhipping or possibly delievering one out and keeping your dignity is better then walking away.   i guarantee you had he stood up for himself things would've never got to where they did.  bullies go for easy targets, not people who stand up for themselves.

Philbin is definitely to blame as well. He's a hypocrite seeing how he cut Chad Johnson for his off the field matter. However, like Tom Hanks said in Saving Private Ryan, you complain up. If coach isn't going to do anything, you to the GM. There's a clear disconnect between the front office and the team itself.

DR, never said I was tough guy. You can keep up with the eloquent words if you want. The point remains the same. At some point you have to stand up for yourself.

seeing how Philbin lost his son not even 2 years ago in an accident, you would think he would be more sensitive to the issue at hand when Martin initially reached out to him to begin with.

yeah CerdicCeballos you definitely fail to see the irony in your comments about reporting a boarder who said something that hurt your feelings yet calling for someone like martin to dig deep and stand up for himself or whatever

there's also a thing called code of conduct in real life. that takes precedence over anything that goes on in any messageboard

this incognito moron crossed those lines. you should not place the burden on martin to have to resort to physical retaliation or whatever you seem to be calling for. the burden is on people with the mentality like incognito to just not behave that way. and if you do, then you're the one who should be labeled as the outcast

i agree. why is this view of martin not doing anything other than retaliating in with physical violence some kind of character defect or even psychological disorder oh his part?

as i said, why is the burden placed on him for refusing to participate in those meathead shenanigans and not someone like incognito who is clearly the aggressor?
why is martin the "soft" one or someone who's mentally ill instead of viewing incognito as the mentally unstable one? did you all ignore the accounts of what went on here?

Ocho Cinco, Brandon Marshall, Vontae Davis get dropped immediately by the Dolphins yet they were made aware of Incognito's antics and dude was voted to the leadership council and only suspended when the league stepped in and the situation became a public disaster :rollin wild.

Le Batard made a good point, how in the HELL are you the most dysfunctional franchise in florida when the winless bucs and jags also play in your state? :lol

Philbin is certainly looking like a fraud in terms of character. Apparently doesn't run a tight ship, but I'll reserve judgment until further notice.

Some NT'ers don't understand that the world is full of varying personalities and characters. Not everyone is alpha, and that's okay. Martin seems educated, soft-spokened. I've read/heard his parents are Harvard law school grads. Yet he voiced his concern over bullying numerous times according to teammates. He was proactive in his own way. Without physical confrontation.

Richie threatened his family. Threatened to defecate in Martin's mouth. Attacked his racial background. Coerced him financially.

where were my feelings hurt?

so i guess if someone bullied you around, you wouldn't stand up for yourself am i correct?

They are similar in the sense that people were questioning as to why Prince didn't stand up for himself. From the video of when he was dunked into the tub, you could clearly tell he was pissed.

^ I'm sure he was mad. Not much he could do. He was a rookie and it was like six guys around him. It looked playful to me, I think the media made it look worse because of all the cursing and the N word scares white people.

As for this guy, he found someone weak to pick on. It's disgusting that a grown man is having fun, making another man's life hell. Racial and gay slurs are disgusting.

I also think Philbman will be out after this

Not only was Prince mad but afterwards JPP was talking WAY too tough as if he wasn't doing it in a joking manner at all. Even in the back you can hear dudes telling Prince to fight.

I saw someone else bring it up...but is this supposed mental health thing the reason why people feel differently about the Incognito issue.

If he had done that to....Cameron Wake...and Wake put the beats on him....how many of ya'll would be saying..."Wake did the wrong thing...he SHOULD have told the coaches he was being bullied"
