more games are won then lost in the NFL when alex smith went out with
an injury he was completing 70 percent of his throw and
since 2009 he's completed 62 touchdowns to 36 interceptions...
compare that to marke sanchez 68 touchdowns to 69 interceptions 55 percent completion

numbers don't always tell the entire story but alex smith's decision
making in comparison to mark sanchez's is day and night

I'm just making the point that Alex Smith didn't win those games any more than Mark Sanchez did. The team's defense and running game did.

Alex Smith definitely won us the game against the Saints.

Over the years though, how many games did he really win you?

Alex had like 7 straight different offensive coordinators, starting from his years at UTAH, then to San Fran. You saw what happened when the guy got some stability. He will always be compared to Rodgers though. Each of their circumstances were uniquely different upon entering the league. Alex was asked to step right in for a storied franchise which was in a crux. He has above average skills IMO. He has a beautiful release on his passes to.

(Spoken as a football fan, not 49ers fan. I just had to chime in)

I will never understand how Alex Smith has a fan club :lol. I think it's good that he didn't go down that Ryan Leaf or Jamarcus Russell path of busts OB's, he's turned himself into a decent QB and that's all he is. That Saints playoff game is like the only time I've seen him really make plays and win a game.

If it wasnt for Jim Harbaugh, Alex smith would not be in the league right now. He would be at home chilling with JaMarcus Russell.

he doesnt have a fan club , what he has is a huge amount of people on

this site that go out of their way to compare him to legit bums

if he cracks my top 15 he's barely in it but he's proven over the years

he can be a successful quarterback

gotta hit you guys up next time im back home in jersey

Maplewood --> Morristown --> Florham Park before i went off to college . now working out in Columbus, OH

I've always been skeptical of Smith but there he is sitting undefeated.  I'm sure Harbaugh deserves some credit but you have to give Smith props as well.  The odds of this happening had to be similar to someone hitting the lottery.

They also couldn't score an offensive touchdown against the Bills though and struggled to beat Cleveland :lol Dwayne Bowe is useless with him at QB and if they didn't have Jamaal Charles they'd be pretty brutal on offense, smith can dump it to him and he makes plays. I think Denver is going to wax them like 27-10. You can't keep relying on your defense to make plays and score touchdowns every single week. You'll need your qb to win yo ugames in the playoffs and not for nothing their schedule is INCREDIBLY easy aside from Denver 2x. Their defense is definitely serious and an elite unit but they will have an off day sometime.

Oh and ChampCru, I do like hoboken as well. Black Bear is my spot lol.

And lemme tell you another place I like, is Mister East out in Roselle. We had VIP service for my boy's bday. The amount of yambs in that place...... LAWD...

Damn... Hopefully we take 2 out of the next 4 games, which is possible, and have Rodgers come back with a 7-5 record. Can probably grab one of the wild cards when rodgers comes back.

NT Summit in Jersey. Hoboken. Black Bear, The Shannon, Village Pourhouse. NFL Sunday.

Paul was trying to set one up in NYC. I'm down for either/both.
