How does Brooks control that when he's moving with that much speed and force?

It's terrible because Brees is shorter than every QB except maybe RW3. So it's a clean hit on every other QB. How in the hell is Brooks supposed to change that.

Exactly why the rules in place are crappy. Defenders can't go low, can't go high, and the game is faster than ever. Hence why I do not enjoy the NFL nor support it like I used to. But it was a correct application of a BAD rule book. Not sure if your serious about the height thing, can't exactly tailor rules due to size

And not even going to address the second part. I watched the game. They didnt show Jim going nuts until the Saints already had the ball was well in field goal range. So unless you are at the game and saw something they didnt show on the broadcast, Im going to chalk that statement up to trying to create a story

I wasn't trying to create anything, I was actually asking for opinions. Hence the question mark, that indicates a question.

So for the various QB hits around the league today, I've seen Geno Smith get hit below the knees...no call. Saw RG3 get knocked down well after having thrown the ball....no call. But Brees hit in the neck draws a flag? Intriguing.

Unfortunately the group of Brees, Brady, Rodgers, Manning, Luck always get the benefit of the doubt yet Ben, Joe, Colin, etc rarely do. Just more of the same from the NFL

Is it the reason we lost?  No.

But if the call was not made, we turned Brees over with a little more than 2 minutes left....and we are up by 3 points.  We dont automatically win the game if the call isnt made, but it would have made it exponentially harder for the Saints to come back and tie the game.

id also love for someone to look up the percentage of "roughing the passer" penalties that "elite group" draws for every time they get hit vs other QBs in the league . i have a feeling everyone would be shocked

ive watched every single patriots game this season . i dont think brady has drawn a single roughing the passer penalty the entire year

No but if they get the ball back there and even if they go 3 and out the Saints get the ball back with over a minute left and down by 3. With the way the 49ers defense was playing there was no telling if they would have stopped the Saints or given up a fg to go into overtime.
