I don't really think the Ravens have many haters on this board. People were just questioning their moves at the beginning of FA and rightfully so I'd say.
Rightfully so? C'mon now, as a Steelers fan I'm sure you know how the cap works. All the guys who left ended up getting paid exorbitant amounts of money in the inflated FA market. There is no way Baltimore could have afforded to keep those players.

Seeing as the defensive unit didn't even perform well last season, cleaning house for younger and cheaper guys is hardly a bad move.
It's Elvis Dumervil...Not Lawrence frickin' Taylor. :lol Calm down.
Considering the Ravens just won the Super Bowl, I don't think they needed a Lawrence Taylor. Just saying, if you're trying to retool your defense you could do a lot worse than Dumervil.

And from the preliminary numbers, it looks like the Ravens signed him for less than what Kruger got from Cleveland. So yeah.. Ozzie Newsome flipped Paul Kruger (who will fade away in Cleveland) for a 3-time Pro Bowler and potentially saved money in the process.

I definitely agree letting Kruger walk was smart, and honestly Reed as well even though he is a staple. But I (and others) were surprised about losing Ellerbe and I'm still unsure about not being able to come to terms with Boldin since he did save Joe in multiple occasions. Don't get it twisted, the Ravens had to clear space and this is a great move; but you also have to understand why people were doing a double take when guy after guy was walking away

Yeah, I can see how it looked bad from an outsider's perspective or fans of other franchises. But I've seen this happen time and time again with the Ravens losing guys, and our front office has proven that they know what they're doing.

People need to remember that with Ellerbe, Kruger, even Reed.. these are guys that the Ravens drafted/scouted. It's not like Baltimore is the Raiders or some team that can't draft or develop talent in-house. We have a very high success rate in the draft and FA. The Ravens have consistently found talent and they can do it again. Heck, Ellerbe was an UDFA pick up. So I'm really not too worried.

Letting Boldin walk was bad, bad, bad.. the rest of the moves I think will be positive in the long run.

No doubt, there is a reason the same teams are competitive year after year. All about the front office (and a decent QB) :lol

Doom had his best season playing linebacker in a 3-4, and he didn't have anything like Ngata and Suggs around him.

And only $12 million guaranteed over five years? That's kind of an insult/a steal.

I really think not having Ray Lewis is worst loss for the Ravens.

As much I dislike Ray Lewis he was heart and soul of that organization.

Him and Ozzie Newsome are only constants in that organization.

Ozzie is a great personnel guy but I really think Ray Lewis turned a lot those boys to men

Heck Ray Lewis even got bunch of his defensive coaches head coaching jobs

AdamSchefter: Interesting: now "highly unlikely" Carson Palmer will be willing to restructure his contract meaning OAK pays him $13 million or cuts him.

Putting down first layaway payment on my Clowney jersey :hat :hat :hat :hat

Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com reports that “a current gay player is strongly considering coming out publicly within the next few months — and after doing so, the player would attempt to continue his career.”

Per Freeman, the player fears the reaction not from within the locker room, but from homophobic fans.  And that’s a legitimate concern; the combination of paying for a ticket and supporting a team and consuming a little alcohol (or a lot) turns normal people into loud, classless, profane jerks who will do and say anything to get under the skin of the members of the visiting team.  And sometimes the members of the home team.
Wonder which team he's on if he's more worried about the fans, eagles or jets maybe?

well, ray lewis has retired, so it can't be him. my guess is tebow or fitzgerald.
Can't be tebow, he aint trying to mess up that church money he's getting right now

TBH the 1st gay dude out the closet in the NFL is gonna make bank off endorsements but he better be a probowler cause the circus he'll bring down on his team will be worse than what the jets went thru. If this dude is a borderline player or a scrub

Better be a different fitz you're referring to, not Larry.

You couldn't be disrespecting Larry like that :|

Mad ignorance. Dude has the right to live his life the way he wants as who he is. Not his problem if there's a "circus" or whatever.

Why would that be disrespectful?

And who cares who it is.

I wasn't discussing whether or not he is gay, I just DIdnt like him being put in the same sentence as Tebow :lol that's what I was stone facing.

I guess I should of made that more clear.
Better yet I recognize I probably should of left the topic alone completely.

It doesn't matter to be who is gay or not, I'm all for Gay rights. Someone very close to be is gay so id never speak of someone's sexual orientation in a demeaning way.

Too touchy of a subject to even speak on publicly. Mistake on my part.
My bad.

I stand by my statement, damn shame if the 1st openly gay player is only a backup QB or ST gunner
