With the direction the league is going cornerbacks are becoming if not become the premier position in football. And you just can't find good ones on the street so if a good one comes along its only expected that he will be paid. Even in the college & high school ranks there is a premium being placed on finding quality defensive backs.

CP shoulda just broke the bank an headed out to miami this week , theres a draft party

down here at the stadium where i think their gonna unveil the new jersey's ....my neighbor

invited me but needless to say i wouldnt be well received seeing as im usually decked out

in patriot gear on draft thursday's

On top of that, I think from day one most Jets fans would have just paid the man to be our corner for the long term.. they should have locked him up and made him a priority years ago when they first re structured his contract... Like we actually had the premier player in a position and we treat him like a bargaining chip or a liability. Son I am dissapoint.

This. When they did Hard knocks that year I was thinking the something.

John Clayton reporting that the Seahawks extend Kam Chancellor to a 5 year 35million 17m guaranteed.

Yeah ? Robert McClain put Brent grimes out of a job..at least as a falcon

Brent Grimes is about to be 30 years old by the time the season starts and is coming off maybe the hardest injury to come back from in sports. He's also really undersized and relied on his athleticism to get by....not a good combination with that achilles injury.

Let's hope Idzik fixes this mess.

Idzik is just a business man following Woody's orders :lol

If the Jets are cleaning house then why are they keeping the same coaching staff? Why are they still holding onto their other players?

Why fire Rex when you're going to suck for a year anyway?  They're going to bottom out while rebuilding and fire him next year when they've taken steps out of cap hell and are a more attractive location for top-tier coaching candidates.

and how is that even fair to him? If you're going to start from "scratch" (I say that lightly because they aren't going all the way with it) then you have to clean house completely. This halfway &%$# is the Jets way.

Who cares if it's fair to him?  It's smarter in my opinion.  It's not a halfway rebuild, they're doing a full rebuild but leaving Rex there to placehold.  It's like when OKC hired P.J. Carlesimo as their first coach knowing they'd just fire him 2 years later when they had built some talent.
