I wouldn't want Cam or Matt as my QB. Matt struggles in the cold and on the road. Cam makes terrible decisions and passes. He was awful in the game against AZ. He was so bad that his bad game against SEA looked good. But I think Cam and Matt are in that 10-15 bunch.

We dont know Cams ceiling yet. Plus how long has Matt Ryan been in the league. Thats how you know this guy Matt is trash if we gotta compare him to a dude who's developing and getting pieces around him

Cam has all the talent, his bad decision making can be corrected with good coaching and play calling.

Cam got top 5 talent.

Matt Ryan was pretty good when he had a stable OL & run game. Let's not act like he wasn't 1 game away from a SB appearance as well.

Cam definitely has the talent but he's dumb as rocks when it comes to decision making :{

Never said he was a great decision maker, Cam's bad decisions stand out more to me is what I meant.

But I'm not messing with you after your Lebron comment in the NBA thread yesterday :lol

Theres a difference between athleticism and talent. Cam is very athletic but has a lot of work to do. You can't make any excuses about talent around him but watch his last two games and tell me you want him as your QB. Like i said earlier, he's in that 10-15 group. A little above average but not someone you want to lead your team.

You look at Matt's records at home and on the road and it's hilarious. He's good but he'll never be great or elite. Someone should post his H and A stats. It's embarrassing.

I don't think that Cam is necessarily a bad decision maker, but he has a tendency to throw inaccurate balls at times—more of a mechanics issue.

He is probably in that 10 range right now, but again, the talent around him is dreadful and I expect him to elevate once it improves...  It should never be a shock when you remove talent around a guy and he suddenly plateaus or "declines"...  Look at Eli and Rivers' careers for an example.

From Mel Kiper's new mock draft "It's not really overstating it to say the Panthers' pass protection was absolute garbage in 2014."

That's not fair to rivers to be compared to Eli. Lol.

If Eli had rivers career with his rings he'd be a HOF lock.

Perception isn't reality people. Eli manning is a below average Qb. I say this every offseason. I said it after his last Super Bowl run when you couldn't spell Elite with Eli.

Let's stop gassing this dude.

Where's the Eli overrated thread when u need it?!?!

And to me, choosing to ignore your mechanics is making a bad decision.

I love cam to death, and I see enough solid progress there to know he'll continue to be successful I'm the league. However he overthrows at least 3 open receivers a game. He will get it cleaned up tho. Trusting your mechanics comes with maturation.

There's a reason you hear of already established QBs tweaking/fixing their mechanics, Peyton, Rodgers, romo all come to mind.

Good mechanics = consistency. Good mechanics= accuracy. Good mechanics can be learned, cam will get it.

---------------
Matt Ryan is in the Peyton manning, tony romo category on NT. No matter how much good dude does it'll never be enough.

Matt Maiocco @MaioccoCSN
One complication in putting together a #49ers staff is the belief around the NFL that GM Trent Baalke is running the show, not the coach.

The thing with Matt and Tony is they haven't done that much good. :lol Romo is what 34 and he just won his 2nd playoff game and Matt's teams have have underperformed a bunch of years.

he only had to win 1 game to be 1 game away from the SB, right?

wasn't Atlanta the 1st or 2nd seed that year?

If the Skins can pull this off....

@******** AdamSchefter Late entry into ********' defensive coordinator consideration is 49ers DC Vic Fangio, who's not returning to SF.

If Fangio is hired, then Dontell is coming along with him. :hat :hat

One play away from SB. It was NFC title game against SF. He tried to hit Roddy White on a slant route I believe. We were inside the 5 or somewhere close. I was deployed and I remembered being so pissed. I didnt even watch the SB that year

1st seed, 13-3 record.

Nah, he was in the NFC Championship and was driving into Niners territory before turning it over on downs. Thus, we got a Harbaugh Super Bowl.

Prior to that they were really hyped in 2010 and hosted Green Bay and Rodgers eviscerated them.
