All of us on NT were awaiting Mallett's move to Houston. Let's see what O'Brien can do with a big, live arm. Most realized Bill selecting Jimmy in the second-round signaled the end of Mallett's tenure in New England. He has the physical tools to be better than Fitzpatrick and Savage. Surprised the Pats traded so low on the dollar. Usually New England extracts maximum value, while conceding very little to acquire assets. Maybe that's an indictment against Mallett and his ability to grasp, maneuver the NFL QB position.

Yea I'm surprised the Pats didn't get Andre or Cushing

Pretty Jimmy showed more in one preseason than Mallett had in all of his first four years. Mallett was also surpassed on the depth chart by the rookie. That should tell you everything about him.

On a related note, Mallett was drafted with the pick Minnesota sent to NE for Randy Moss (ended up being the 10th pick in 3rd round of 2011 draft). 4 years later and he gets dealt for a conditional 6th/7th rounder. And Bill hasn't 'eem come close to replacing the unstoppable toss.

NFL is double the roster size than the NHL/MLB man

Unless you want people to start getting offended, we can look further into the topic but I'm not going to do that

I will say that if you give each NBA team 50 roster spots you would probably see the same damn thing

I also just think football players are a different breed. Definitely like to live life on the edge

 

False. MLB has 40 man rosters and hundreds of players for each team

Mallett was gonna leave when his contract was up at the end of the year anyway, so it was either let him walk and get the 2016 comp pick or trade him and get a pick and a roster spot right now

I remember the day they drafted Mallett. I was shocked. Several moons later and he's shipped off for nothing.
