Absolutely. I would take Ochocinco > Jackson in a heartbeat.
Ochocinco will be 33 years old in a few months...
Desean Jackson will be 24 in a few months...

85 has only had a 10 TD season once in his career. The last time he had a 9 TD season was 2005. Desean had 9 TD just last season.

Last year, Jackson had 150 more yards than Ocho while playing in ONE less game.

You have the right to your opinion, but if you really had the decision between the two you would be selecting the wrong player.
I don't know why you're bringing up age. We're talking right now, and right now I would take Chad.
Just ignoring the rest of my post then?
Are we failing to realize the difference between the Eagles offense and the Bengals offense?... You have one team that rushed the ball 384 times and finished in the the bottom 5 of the league in attempts in the Eagles to one team that rushed the ball 505 times and finished in the Top 4 in the Bengals. You really don't think that would've played in their stats?... Chad still runs better routes then DeSean. he is still a capable deep threat, he does more then go deep. That's why I would take Chad right now. Put Chad in that Andy Reid offense and he would put up better numbers then DeSean. There, I have touched the rest of your post.

But, Are we just going to blatantly say D-Jax is better than Greg Jennings, Roddy White, Marques Colston. I mean Miles Austin had a spectacular year last year, Is he already a top 10 receiver b/c of One year?? Sidney Rice?? Vincent Jackson?? What is putting D-Jax on top of all these up and coming receivers as well?? I don't see it now, but Potentially maybe he can.. That's is what it all boils down too.

If folks were willing to say AD was a top-5 RB after his rookie year, you should take no issue w. people thinking Miles Austin is a top-5 WR right now.  There has been ZERO drop-off with his play, and he's stepped it up.  Dude is an animal.

Jackson is good for what he does, take a 5yrd route, breaks a tackle and outruns everyone....

whoa whoa whoa.. I never said he was a top 10 receiver (he is very close though).. I was simply responding to dude above that said all he is, is a "fast" receiver..

and my point was simply that there aren't many receivers who have a bigger impact on the game today as desean.. as a football player for the eagles he is more important to our team than the majority of the other receivers named..

so to simplify:
if you subtract desean from the eagles you end up with.....

if you subtract  ____ from the ___ you end up with...

and ppl please use the same rational that you guys are using for certain players for others.. and this isn't about career achievement, the point being made/asked is if you had to play a game tomorrow how many of these guys would you really take over desean
The only point we been tryna make.

at people turning it into a top 10 debate, no one was ever arguing that

Ya'll got me confused now, I don't know what ya'll trying to debate then.  So we are giving Desean credit for the Eagles having a cheap front office that doesn't want to build a talented receiving corps?

The way ya'll were talking earlier, I thought ya'll were saying he's top 5 in the league.

Damn...my post got taken way out of context. Should have never said anything about that. Obviously he isn't touching the top 5 or top 10 yet..I just said he's slowly getting there.

Top 20 is more realistic. If you don't think he's at least top 20 then you just simply hate DeSean/hate the Eagles.

Just out of curiosity after Peterson's rookie year, what 5 RBs would you have put over him?

That's a good question...I'll admit that I was one of the people REFUSING to put him as one of the top-5 backs in the league because there were other guys at the time who were dominant in their own right, and had done it more than one season.  Hindsight is 20/20, but that was kinda foolish on my part because he was that damn good as a rookie, and just because he was a 1st year back didn't mean that he couldn't have been one of the best in the league in that short period of time.  I think it kinda applies to Miles Austin in that he put up GREAT #'s last year.  At the end of last year, would I have put him in the top-5...I don't know.  However, seeing the short sample of games he's played in 2010, it's easy to see he's gotten better.  For that reason alone, and off of my assumption that he'll top his 2010 #'s, I have no issue with saying he's one of the CURRENT 5 best WR's in the game right now.  And like Austin, AD got BETTER in his 2nd year.....Austin hasn't even hit his prime, and that's scary.  Pains me to give him such props cause I hate the dude and his team.

Fact is Desean is a big threat.. his biggest asset is his speed we all know that... but dude is clearly better than just a speed guy... Every DC must gameplan for him.. if hes on punt return the punter will have to angle his kick out of bounds or kick it high to prevent a return... he can take 5 yd crossing routes and turn em into 50yd gains and also do the same on reverses...

Now you got dudes in here saying Dez Bryant is better than Desean?? wow im done
