NFL Week 7 In Review...

Its just amazing with how hard it is to win in the NFL that Alex Smith can be the quarterback of teams with such good records. At some point its not coincidence.

I don't think the Chiefs are winning a Super Bowl but to see them dismissed as frauds in this NFL. I just don't see it.

There are no great teams anything can happen.

Let's just forget and ignore about the Alex Smith led 49ers before Jim Harbaugh.
Jesus Christ couldn't have saved those dysfunctional *** teams.
Call me an optimist, homer, whatever....but I am convinced that from 2008-2010, the 49ers would have been a playoff caliber team with competent QB play.

Alex smith's career lifetime record when thr opposition scores 24 or more points....

2-27-1.

It doesnt tell the ENTIRE story, but it does carry some weight. Dinkin and dunkin only takes u so far....

very interesting stat. don't think i've ever seen that posted here before.

Any niner fans wanna shed some on who those 2 tms were?? Were they back n forth type gms?? Come from behind? Vs turrible defenses??? Did the defense/special tms score points in those gms???

Just wondering.

What's the flipside of that stat? How consistent is he at winning low scoring games?

I agree.

Couldnt tell u since ppl tend to focus on the negatives. I guess u can look up his lifetime stats as a starter and subtract the wins and losses.

U have to wonder....if den drops 34 on kc...is alex smith gonna lead u to victory? Maybe...but only time will tell.

Helllllllll no he won't

Even Seahawks fans know this dude Alex is basura. Got dudes asking how good was he at winning games when he wasn't doing his damn job, score points. :lol

Oh don't get me wrong, I think Alex Smith is a plague on the NFL with his boring ***

the flipside of that is alex smith requires a VERY VERY good defense to win. don't get me wrong, as a niner he won some high scoring games against the saints and packers but both those defenses couldn't stop a lingerie football league spread offense

can we just stop arguing about the merits and possible "greatness" of alex smith. he is this generation's trent dilfer. an avg qb who benefits from playing with one the best defenses. if you think otherwise, you're in complete utter denial

I believe the lasts posts loosely. Other than a handful of games, I've seen the defenses carry the momentum while Alex either puts the game on autopilot or loose his composure. You need a quarterback to lead the team to succeed in the playoffs consistently (or have an extraordinary defense like the Ravens).

i'd wonder, can denver drop 34 on KC

I believe so. The key is not Denver's offense, but that Broncos defense. Their achilles heel has been stopping the pass, they've played the run extremely well. I don't have the stats in front of me, but I don't believe they've yet to allow a 100 yard rusher. My point is, if the Broncos defense can force 3 and outs, and overall short drives, then even the most elite of defenses will wear down. Then you factor in the type of drives that Peyton is known for...the hurry up, 13 play drives and such. What's nice is we don't have to wonder for too much more longer. We get to see how it all plays out. At least two more times.

I love this game.

if the broncos limit jamaal charles, which they can, they win that game handily

their secondary is def their Achilles heel, but that was over blown against romo and luck (two above average qbs). don't get me wrong, their secondary is poor at best, but they're not going to look terrible against Alex Smith

broncos 1st against the run and last against the pass. i'll have to look into it some other time, but i'd be curious to see how much of that is because denvers offense is a juggernaut. they score at will forcing teams to play catch up earlier than theyd like, abandoning the run.

1.seahawks (as a niner fan, I hate to say this...but that defense is, imo, better than kc's)
2.Colts
3.denver
4.niners
5.saints

kc's defense is lights out, but they've had an incredibly soft schedule. I'm willing to bet the combined wins-losses of their opponents thru week 7 is well below .500

1. Broncos
2. Seahawks
3. Saints
4. 49ers
5. Chiefs

I have Denver as #1 overall + give them the win over the Seahawks in a neutral or home situation. I would have the Seahawks winning if they played vs DEN with the 12th man behind them. And for the record, I have the Broncos beating all the teams 3-5 home, away, or neutral. Considered the Saints at home but Denver's offense on turf.... eh. The Superdome gets loud, but Seahawks home environment is above it.

5. Colts/Chiefs. You can't knock 7-0. but you can't deny who the Colts beats so far.

To add one thing:

Don't sleep on the Cowboys. Forget the past, forget what you think you know about Romo...Just don't sleep on the Cowboys, alright?

1. Saints
2. Seahawks
3. Broncos
4. Colts
5. 49ers

Prediction time

None of those 5 teams are winning the Super Bowl
