I just landed a job in South Jersey (Mays Landing ... about 30min west of AC), and was wondering if any Jersey NTers knowledgeable of the area could help with suggestions/advice on good areas for me to look for a place (renting for now).

Basically the main things I would want are:
- within 20-30min of Mays Landing (http://maps.google.com/maps?um=1&hl=en&q=mays+landing&biw=1280&***=848&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=il)
- nicer/slightly upscale area
- preferably younger crowd with some shops/bars/restaurants around
- rent ~ $1000/mo (this is a little flexible tho)

i'm 22yo, single, and from LI if it matters

Any help would be much appreciated.

ok, I live in Mays Landing so first off, you are only about 15 minutes tops from Atlantic City. Not sure where you landed your job but hit me on PM if you would rather not say. I just sold a condo I owned in Mays Landing in a community called Timber Glen. These are primarily owner occupied, but there is another development on the same property called Evergreen and these are all rental only condos. Not sure wbat they are getting for rent, but worth checking out. The ammenities they have are very nice and are relatively new. I would say the oldest buildings in the development are 6 yrs old and others have been completed within the last year. you are within walking distance of shopping, mall, "chain type" restaraunts.

as I stated, PM me any questions and ill let you know.
