Nike Air Flight Lite II retro looks to be coming

Exactly. I mean, they even jacked up the outsole and midsole proportions SMFH. I should've bought 10 pairs of the previous retros from back in like 2003. I still have a pair of those original retros just because I can't bring myself to toss them. COMPLETELY different shoe.
I actually played in the retros and they were soooo comfortable. I can't imagine how comfy those OG's must have been.....
I remember several people at the time who played in the 2015 retros also reporting they ripped and fell apart easily.
I had the OGs as my summer league shoe in 1992. Honestly don't even remember what they felt like in terms of cushioning LOL

^ Yep, to me the irony is how much the public moves when they do get it right. Which is kind of important, no?

I certainly am not looking at the books (and I'm sure the books look fine as always for Nike Inc.) but look at retros like AM 90, they did the last infrared retro in almost perfect toes and people kinda went crazy. Did Nike notice? The huarache runners....terrible comparison shapes the last decade. Things sat. Nike finally gets off their *** the last year and makes the shapes (somewhat) correct and people race to buy. The view of huaraches now are MUCH improved by us....releases are considered valuable product as opposed to FinishLine beaters I'll buy 4 months from now if I'm bored.

How major shoe companies, with quality control and employees who are sneaker people, let most of these past re-issues get to market is beyond me.

We say "cause they can" and that to me is a fabulous philosophy from a shoe company that was built on appearing premium and quality for your money.

Crazy that Nike thrives on retros yet produces some of the worst retros imaginable.
This made me laugh for real. That was a great line LOL

Totally, except I could argue no one but us still gives a crap about Huaraches. Most of them still sit and go on discount at many retailers. Even after the coveted OG colorways sell out, they’re soon usually available for retail or less on resale platforms.
I suspect, truth be told, Nike has sales data and research that says making things closer to the original actually has little impact on its sell-through rate. So I’m actually kinda surprised when it goes to the trouble and expense of reworking a retro. Especially something like the Huarache which has a limited following.
My bigger question for Nike would be, why did you change the shapes etc in the damn first place? I wonder if it’s a case of they just use generic lasts to manufacture a lot of these rather than bespoke lasts for a given retro. That would explain it. Otherwise, it’s costing the company more money to put out a retro one way, then a couple years later do it again on a whole new last. But if the first one was just a last it uses for lots of shoes, it makes sense from a biz standpoint.

I actually don't mind the shape and look of the retro compared to the OG...seems more streamlined .

and the side panel under the swoosh..
Oddly the side panel on the OG Pips looks more like it does on the retro than the OG black side panel 🤷‍♂️
Maybe it’s the angle, I dunno.

Actually i it's the angle , the height is standard on my size 15 PCPS

Original color code is White "Fire red" and it's bright in hands (430001 - 160 ) not university red and the Flight logo is embroidered directly on the flat leather , on the retro it's a sewed patch on nubuck tongue like the general released og white black.
Leather swoosh on the 1991 PCPS , nubuck on 2022 , but i'll gladly get those to trash it like it should be !!!
