Why are they ODing on clear soles? Those would've been much better with a dark grey or black sole, maybe even purple. The soles ruined them to me.

Nah, I like the clear soles. Would prefer Nike to move toward using cloudy soles like the LWP's have instead of the see through ones they currently use on Foams

I'm not sure why everyone is dumping on those Suns Foams, but I'm definitely feeling those.
I haven't like any colorway after the coppers but these are a must for me.

Don't insult the Air Force 1 like that.
Foams could never turn into the AF1. Nike created thousands of versions of the AF1 before it ruined it, the Foam couldn't make it past a few dozen before hitting a wall hard.
The Foam just isn't a first tier, classic shoe. True classics can support damn near infinite iterations - AF1s, Dunks, AM90, AM95, AM87. That's pretty much the inner Nike circle right there.

BIP's spot on - AF1 had a solid run from '82 to '02. Some of the questionable colours and poor leather came after that period. It all went downhill from the XXV anniversary though.

at these being a "must-have". Eggplants are awesome, I dont need another eggplant foam with orange accents. ez passingThese and a navy/obsidian colorway would be greatly appreciated and quickly acquired by me.

I wasn't talking in quanity or longevity. I was simply saying that there starting to make Foamposites in every color of the rainbow which they are and releasing them like Air Force ones which are shoes that come out all the time and in many different colors which they are doing. And all though some of us may be getting tired of Foamposites, Foamposites aren't coming close to hitting any type of wall. I can't remember the last pair of Foamposites that came out that didn't sell out in minutes and ALL the ones up here that we're leaving comments about, saying how "we don't like them" etc will sell out also. And yes AF1's, Dunks, and Air Max's are all classic shoes but if you think the Nike Foamposite isn't a classic nike shoe you need to have your sneaker license revoked seriously. Keep in mind the Nike Foamposite debuted in 1996 which is only one year after one of the shoes (AM95) you listed and is still selling well today. And although AF1's aren't as sought after as they use to be they're STILL a classic shoe, just like all the other shoes mentioned including the Foamposites, and classics never die.

I hear you on that aspect of it. But, still this is only what year 3 or so of them really pumping them out - beginning with the first Eggplant drop. But, every sneaker has it's run, and my point is that that Foam's 15 minutes of PEAK fame won't last as long as that of the Dunk or AF1 when all is said and done.
I stand by my statement about the legacy of the Foam. I'm not saying it's a not classic - that's just semantics. I'm talking about Nike's most signature models of all time. Foams are not in that category - the Dunk, AF1, AM 90, 95, and 87 - that's the 5-headed Nike version of Mt. Rushmore. They've had a ton of other really memorable shoes - shoes I consider among my favorite of all time and have done extremely well over a long period of time - but no other shoes have reached the level that these 5 have. It's no insult to Foams.
Don't worry about my sneaker license, BTW. I know about the history of Foams. I was old enough to have my DRIVER'S license when they originally released. They bricked - even in NYC. They've bricked for the vast majority of their "career," and just recently took off. If Foams were an athlete, they'd be R.A. Dickey. ..Emerging from mediocrity to win a Cy Young at 38.

I take it where around the same age then give a take a year because I was on my PERMIT then
but I don't recal the Foams "bricking" when they came out. I just remember them being around $200 and a lot of people thought that was crazy back then because they where the highest nikes out that time even over Jordan. But if you think back no shoes where selling out like that back then not even Jordans. If you could just afford Jordans period you where that guy. People where more concerned about the cost of the shoe more than availbility back then I remember saving up money and going to buy the Jordan 6's like 2 weeks after they came out and I bought the Space Jam 11's almost a month aftert they came which would be unheard of these days. You could actually wait for a pair of shoes to go on sale back then or get a restock. My point basically is in the past 3 years a lot of crazy things has happened with Nikes across the board in general not just Foamposites. In the last 3 years we've seen shoes hyped like never before shoes reselling for over 10 times what there worth (Blake Griifin Galaxy Hyperdunks retail for $140 but are on Flight Club for $1500
) People are willing to sleep in front of stores for mutiple days for a pair of shoes, and if a shoe looks good or has something extra on them there automatically marked "limited" so the whole overall game has changed but I respect your point also

Just seen a video of the suns on YouTube, they definitely don't look like royals/eggplants.

just watched a video too where they looked lighter purple than the original pictures. Hope they are darker in real life

Shoes sold out back then, as I recall. But, it was a slow, trickling process. It wasn't like everybody rushed the doors the second a shoe released. Shoes gained a following over time. Major releases like the annual Jordan sig would see a cluster of people copping them in the first week, and then continued growth of popularity. A month or two in, you'd see lots of people with a shoe that became a big hit. When I say Foams bricked, I just meant that they sold poorly even relative to other signature shoes around the same time. The Jordan XI, and even XII sold really well. Earlier shoes in the Penny line sold really well - especially the 1 and 2. Select CWs of AF1 sold really well around that time (white, grey, ultramarine high - for example). Foams didn't move like that. Sure, their price point was part of the reason, but that doesn't change the numbers that they did, or didn't do - even if you measure it by revenue generated, they still weren't a smashing success. The were a niche hit, and even most of the retros sat until markdown, despite having a loyal, cult following. 10 years ago, the Foam's following was like that of the Spiridon, or some other unconventional niche shoe that didn't appeal to the masses but was loved by a small group of devote enthusiasts. Now, it causes mayhem. But, most of the fans just jumped on the bandwagon and will jump off just a quickly.
