Nike Air VaporMax

Nike is on to something. I picked up plats and they are hella comfortable! Might be more comfortable than boost tbh. Need more time in them...but so far i am real inpressed. I'm a true 11 and I had to get an 11 5 for those wondering about sizing. Ub 1.0 size basically.

I'm surprised that no one else has picked up on the interview with the designer in which he states the outsole pods on these are only supposed to last 13-26 miles (1/2 to full marathon equivalent). That's great marketing on Nike's part getting us to pay $190 for basically a disposable shoe.

Still debating whether to go for my ID pair, but I think I'm going to stick to the blacks and maybe keep the platinums too.

Link?

Nike used a plastic outsole made of a different grade than the TPU  used to make the Air sole, and Kathy Gomez, Nike’s vice president of innovation, claims that it’s more durable than the typical rubber outsoles  used in most running shoes. Gomez also told us that they had 350 testers run a combined 126,000 miles in these shoes, which averages out to 360 miles per shoe.

It's true... but the majority of people will only be wearing them casually...the tread won't thin that fast by just walking in them...but yeah if you're a hardcore runner running 5+ miles regularly then it for sure isn't a good long term shoe.

Is this forreal? I was curious in getting these one day to run in I usually do between 35-40 miles a week

Edit: Hopefully that coach is mistaken but why would they print such misleading info then?

if they wear out after 26 miles... just send them back in for a full refund.

I see this referenced in the comments, but I don't see it in the actual review. What am I missing?

They must have scrubbed it from the article once they realized what a huge mistake it was to print that.

That's good to hear then.

Or, perhaps, the info was simply wrong. It's also not surprising that these nubs would wear down quickly--anyone who's owned an Ultra Boost can attest to that with their outsole--but I think it's unlikely that they wear down that quickly.

Not sure if some folks realize that this shoe will fully restock and probably sit in 2-4 weeks.

Wouldn't be surprised to see same iD options without amd badging as well.

Hope so.  I agree.  I didn't want that badge anyway.

TTS here.  It's a little tight in the middle.  Only reason I would say size up is if someone has a really wide foot.
Or if you dislike a snug fit. Tts was too snug for my liking even though I could have have worn them no problem if push came to shove... so I went up .5. It all depnds how you all like your fits.

For those who have in hand, is TTS too tight?

Its a stretchy knit, so it somewhat comes down to your preference. I wear a size 9 in racers, and tried on a size 9 in the vapor. My racers, with thin socks on feel a little loose, but not too big. With the vapors, it is a stretchy knit (unlike the racer), so it has some room on the sides, but it stretches. I think if I were to buy a pair, I would feel good with a size 9. However, if you feel like you want them a bit loose, I would go half up.
