Or just use compact fluorescent light bulbs.. they do not heat up as much as regular incandescent/halogen bulbs. A bit of distance prob helps too..ive seen this happen on other shoes
folks got to stop charging their damn shoes, the glow in the dark thing will happen naturally, forcing it is just dumb.

Wrap the tip in some blue painter's tape. Lightly grab it over the top with a pair of needle nose pliers, and pinch the shoe string at the base of the lace tip really hard. Should twist off.
yo anyone struggling to take their lace tips off? them things are on super tight and i aint trying to damage my 3k investment(lol).
