Product was never available. Which was weird.
It said "product is no longer available" on my phone, but showed up fine from my computer. Weird.

There isn’t and hasn’t been any price drop. They have been selling for 3k since 2/9 and are still selling for 3kAll you corny dudes who were laughing when I called the price drop right after they hit FC for $6k:
What now?
AS OF TODAY, IN REAL WORLD DEALINGS, RED OCTOBERS ARE SELLING BETWEEN $2,800 AND $3,500. THE INEVITABLE PRICE DROP IS WELL UNDERWAY.

Where are you seeing a price drop?
I think all those crazy prices came from the first eBay auction, the multi million dollars. I'm pretty sure some people not at ease with reselling saw this auction and went crazy, displaying prices like 10k$ hoping they could get a super sky high price.a ton of people in this thread, on craigslist, and everywhere, seem to have thought these could take in anywhere between $5K - $7K, all day long, no problem...
the only 2 pair on my local CL have them up for like $5K and $6K...
while some pairs have and will sell for that, that's not the actual going rate, like people have been trying to imply (the wishful resellers with the dollar signs in their eyes)... that's all we're really saying...
for the first few days i saw a lot of $4K sales, but now they have dropped a bit, and will drop even lower... it's inevitable...
so for the most part, people who DIDN'T get the shoe are praying for a price drop for whatever reason. and for whatever reason, can't understand why the people who DID get the shoe want the price to stay up.
at the end of the day, we pair $260 for the shoe so even if you sell for $2500, its a helluva comeup.
all the I TOLD YOU THE PRICE WOULD DROP bickering is real girly, imo. so for those of us who got the shoe....the next person that says "i told you the price would drop", just reply with "yes, the price dropped, you were right" (so they can hush. cause obviously they just want to be right about something)

nah, it's not that we can't understand it... it's obvious why they want it to stay up...
and it's obvious why people who just really like this shoe and want to wear it want it to come down... cuz it's silly we have to be c-blocked to this degree, the hype and initial resell prices are uncalled for... it was blown out of proportion, and makes no sense (it is a great example of how out of control this whole "sneaker game" has gotten, a huge majority of it is driven strictly by money, and is really starting to make me wanna leave it all alone)...
all i've been saying is it is gonna drop, cuz that's how it always works, and yet, we've had all these wishful thinkers in here trying to swear on everything that they're gonna stay up, and act like FC prices are the norm now...
end of the day, i'm just glad they released. i obviously like this shoe and i like this colorway, and if it had remained unreleased i prolly woulda never attained them, cuz i wasn't gonna drop what they were going for for the few legit pairs floating around...
I'd also say that the story around the shoe (surprise drop, release cancelled etc...) drove people crazy and people were willing to pay that much before the release because they lost hope but now that they released the prices should go down due to the flood.it was a combination of things, but i think more than anything it was the stolen pairs that were fetching $6K - $8K b4 release, i think a lot of people saw that, including the guys at FC, and thought "let's just roll with that number"...
like that story someone told in here the other day, about some consignment shop that had like 3 early pairs (was it ATC?) and the dude paid like $7K for each of them...
now he's screwed...
but i think resellers saw that people were paying numbers like that, and decided that was a place to start.
they didn't take into consideration that nike just released thousands of these, and while you may sell a few at that starting out, like any hyped release, the hype cools down, the market is still flooded, and prices come down.
the only reason i keep saying all of this is cuz i said this a week ago, cuz it's common sense, and just the way the sneaker market goes, yet a million people have tried to disagree, and SWEAR they're gonna stay up above $5K...
Or just a pair of shoes for me to wear. That's what you're supposed to do with them, right? And if resellers wait too long and stick to their guns it'll just be an overpriced novelty.
LOL. I read the thread everyday.Where you been riceNeggs??? They are posting that now strictly because the dudes you are telling to say "you were right".....yeah they were the ones the last 4 days making the "I TOLD YOU SO (that these won't ever sell for less than $6K)" posts. You're a little late to come in here and try to stop that, and since we know which side of that you're on that's really convenient too. Quit telling people what to post. No one cares what you want to read
i guess i feel you. but truth be told, you probably wouldn't even want the shoe if there wasn't a ton of hype behind it. especially after reading about the quality of the shoe. so the hype factor is a catch 22. its driving you to want to pay $2000 for a shoe, and killing your chances at the same time.
and you're going to "leave the shoe game". turn down for what?? its in your blood and will always be.
i have mine listed on ebay for about $5000 and have turned down alot of local offers of $3000 cash. WHY you ask? hell, i don't even know.
I know you're excited,, sneakers look great.. but please tag your pics... we can debate a lot of things... but we all know for a fact, con artist are lurking for any chance they get to swindle someone, lets not make their job easier

well, that's where you're wrong.
hype has no effect on me. i pass on hyped shoes ALL the time. and i buy a lot of shoes with no hype at all.
i love shoes with straps (executed right), i love and have quite a few all red shoes, and these are the ULTIMATE red shoe with a well executed strap.
so these are a no brainer for me to add to the collection.
i hope his adidas efforts aren't my cup of tea, i will gladly pass, and be thankful i don't have to deal with any hassle or spend more money.
the way this hobby has been lately has just made me wanna bow out, at least from hard to get and expensive to get releases... it's gotten beyond annoying, and this release is the WORST.
