Wow. Someone actually listened.
Side panel on PE looks like it’s different tooThese are amazing in person. Dropping 1/22
Book’s pair had white stitching around the swoosh, think that’s the only thing missing.
Heard rumblings of a gold medal/I’ll do it pack… nothing yet on the triple black.
What’s the style code?
so much untapped potential with these.
The marketing behind the AE1 is flawless. I’ve legit never hooped in anything but Nikes. I tried the AE1 and it was too heavy I returned them after one try. The book 1’s are are the most comfortable basketball shoe next to OG Kobe 9 elites..
As someone who avoided and ignored adidas ever since I’ve gotten into sneakers, I’ll admit that the three stripes won the basketball signature category with the STRENGTH of the AE1s this year. The way adidas rolled those out has been the COMPLETE polar OPPOSITE of these. It’s a shame because I really LOVE the Book 1’s silhouette/aethetic.
Even the marketing with the commercials were entertaining for the AE1s. However, what really CLINCHED it for adidas were the COLORWAYS that were released to the public. Yes, there were only a few PEs, BUT the vast majority of the cws AE wore eventually released or will release as GRs.
My interest/purchase rate for the Book 1s that released has been like a NL pitcher’s batting average so far. Contrastingly, with the AE1s, my purchase % of the released colorways has been like an NBA veteran’s free throw % because I wanted to scoop up damn near EVERY ONE! And this coming from an adidas ignorer too!
Nonetheless, the 2025 forecast is looking bright!
I was the same way until the last 4-5 years, always rocked with roses and the adidas boost stuff but my collection was 90-10. Now as far as hoop shoes go I’m 20%Nike and 80% everything else. Chinese companies are on top of their game. Adidas whole trio has been top tier past few years while Nike is very complacent. The marketing behind the AE1 is flawless. The Christmas (White) cw has grown on me. If I can find them at < $100, I’ll pull the trigger.
