Nike Has Officially BANNED Midnight Releases

If there were a Nail and Hammer.. AyiPapi just used them both.

..... or you know what I mean...

That RTV situation was VERY important to the business relationship for items like the AF25 and yes the horrible ZOOM BB 1 in Earth tone colors...

Nike just made these items that would be sent to their outlets or where you would see them sold at TJ MAXX and ROSS

Nike above all else aint stupid... in business... as much as they are touted as Marketing Geniuses.. Give that credit to Weiden and Kennedy for their commercial ability..

Although over the last 5 years, that has dipped quite a bit too.

No more midnight releases online either.

God, 5AM for pacific is going to kill me.

My girlfriend is going to have my balls if I wake her while getting up for shoes at 445AM.

Hawaii is going to be 4AM...

I wish they did the 12PM PST like they did for the durants.

I don't think I'm going to like the early releases. I think it will still be hard to get shoes on NDC...
To think just a year ago I could get every shoe I wanted from NDC with ease

So basically it's pick your poison with NDC? Either line up early at the mall, or take your chances online? Cant miss out online, then head out to the store/mall to try your luck again?

Online change doesn't bother me either. I'm on east coast and My local stores don't get much stock to begin with. online or bust for me.

Does anyone know if they're going to drop at random times AFTER 8 am or if they'll tweet the time before release day

Cheaper solution rather than fixing their server problem.

They'll probably do it like this

That works for me... I'm on Eastern time anyways and my kids never let me sleep past 8.. Maybe now I'll actually have a chance at a online release..

People are going to camp no matter what. What stores should do is hand out tickets with sizes of the amount of pairs they have and send people home for the night. That way there won't be a lot of extra people that could cause trouble and it won't waste people's time.

No matter what they do, there's going to be flaws.

I rarely order off NDC or Eastbay at midnight, so this doesn't really effect me. I don't think it's a good idea, because it takes away the chance of people buying in stores in the morning if they strike out online. I suppose this is supposed to keep less people from camping overnight and limiting the wanna be resellers to one pair to resell.

And I suppose the raffle ticket system for more limited releases isn't too bad. I went to one of my HOH here and they did a raffle for the Galaxy Foams. My friend's ticket was the second one called and they were escorted inside the mall to get their ticket with the size on it and came back in the morning and walked in and out.

But this new wave of "sneakerheads" is really ruining it for us.

I'm fine with the raffle, no camping out *+*##$+#. I can just show up 5 minutes get my ticket and just wait. Everyone has a fair chance.

Unless employees rig it.

Nike is simply creating the new standards for a shoe releases that other stores will follow suit, only a matter of time.
Twitter RSVP for Nike Stores eliminated all campers for Playoff 12s : Any local Footlocker, Finish Line or chain department store can create a twitter account and RSVP for that specific store in any location, no more camping out at malls. No more violence or mob mentality brewing outside department stores. Twitter RSVP the day before release at random time, pickup release day. No lines except other RSVPS or buzzards, waiting for scraps or no shows.

NDC releases no longer midnight, but random time after 8AM EST on release day.  This will keep the site from crashing because mass amounts of people will not be camping online, bogging down the server(s). I doubt Nike will release the shoe at exactly 8AM EST, they might but I predict it will be in afternoon, a fair time for anyone in the US but random. Nike Store has no reason to have the server capacity of Google or Facebook full time, it's daily traffic is nothing compared to those sites. Checkout will be smooth for those that get there first, till eventually inventory will sell out long before the server has chance to crash or even lag.

People will laugh when remembering that consumers actually camped out for shoes, just like people use to drive to Blockbuster for a movie.
