But it's the other side of that... And that's the "cultural" significance.

If Nike doesn't "officially" name it the "Fab 5 pack" it doesn't matter, because we will...

Meaning, footlocker "unlocked" and every site/blog everyone will refer to them as such, even store employees at Nike.

Man the black pair is SO clean, had these back in 8th grade. Tried to wear them to ball in when I was a freshman on the JV team but the tread was so worn down I kept slipping, had to retire em.

So we the same age then.

These, and the Shawn Kemp "Around the Rim" pumps (black joints with the white circles around them, looked like a cow) were my 8th grade b-ball shoes for St. Gabriel's School in D.C.

I love when Jalen talked about how they went to a nike outlet when they were on Michigan and saw the shoes advertised as "fab fives"...I wonder which pair exactly it was that day and if the players would even know the names of the shoes they helped make iconic like we do if you asked them today...Thought I'd add a pic of the actual black colorway:

I had the black/white c/w in HS and tore the heel tab while playing volleyball, so returned them and got some Tailwinds.

Either or, a dope shoe and would definitely cop if retro'd.

However, knowing how these things work out, they'll come out as a bastardized version with a 360 max air sole.

The leather on my white joints was beautiful and supple. Even back then I thought they were exceptional.

I'm still waiting...I had the I's and II and picked up II's again when it was retro'd. I have them in the garage.. the toe is a bit worn but still wearable.

Doubt Nike will ever retro them they should have scrapped that new hybrid version
