Nike x OFF-WHITE Collection Thread - Rest In Peace Virgil Abloh

There was a ton of these supply wise. I honestly can’t see how boys couldn’t get 1/9 for retail. At least 1/9

Now if you didn’t get the pair you want then that’s another story. Or say you half heartedly tried for like 1 pair. But everyone should’ve at least got something.

This was one of those if it was make or break for you then you should’ve been able or found a way to get.

damn i really want the prestos but i will NEVER pay resale for any shoe..

dudes thinking paying 800 for a shoe that was 160 is a steal

If you’re a driven person in work, relationships, hobbies, whatever, you find a way to make “it” happen, even w concurrent demands...if you were passionate about these and you wanted them beyond a causal interest, you could have gotten em. Having a 9-5 or even an always on job isn’t a reason to accept failure.

I set my sights on 7 pairs and wound up w 3x my baseline expectations. I used my “9-5” as a catalyst to not only get access to pairs but build my business. I think it’s totally doable.

I'm with you to an extent, but not being able to constantly watch websites or whatnot isn't always viable. SNKRS was the only one where I knew the exact time to be able to purchase it, and I got stuck with endless errors on SNKRS. Could I have paid resale, sure... but I'm not going to spend $450 on a pair of Nikes. I certainly did place priorities over these shoes, there is no doubt about that. But the randomness of raffles and hoping SNKRS works is not an "easy get".

You live in La La land, but hey congrats on your efforts. Me for my efforts I got nothing. I entered every single raffle out there in North America and Europe. I live aprox 1000 miles from the nearest place that had these and to say us that don't have them didn't make "it" happen. I guess you will land every single pair of shoes that you are wanting because your going to make "it" happen. Kudos for you, I feel like I'm answering a troll

i mean i get this, but @ the same time, i'm blessed to work a job where we make a lot of money & make our own schedules besides what we bid, for instance, around the time of this drop, i was working 2 doubles & a single & had 4 days off a week. i also have the ability to fly for free, meaning i can enter raffles, go to a city if i win, pick up shoes & fly back out, kinda condescending to say some of us don't have "real" jobs, not every real job is a 9 to 5 or monday thru friday, just saying...i ended up with 3 out of 9 on the drop, 2 on snkrs & won 1 raffle.

Anything you want in life is possible. Without excuses. Always remember that champ and follow your dreams and your heart. Life is long. But you only got one life. So don’t waste time with a “real job.” Live your dream bro. Sorry if I offended you. I love you and I’m praying for you brother. Continued success

Here’s my story. Thanks to not having a real job. I was able to travel to NYC, meet/greet with virgil, pick up the air jordan 1 and Blazer for retail. No tax. Then a couple months later I won a raffle for the zoom fly and purchased an Air Force on snkrs. Was it easy? No. Was it hard? No. Would I pay resell? Hell no. But anyway I Just made it happen. Spoke it into existence and it worked out. Good memories. Looking forward to part 2 in February

My view is, focus all your energy and effort on working hard.

You'll then not be interested in buying shoes for retail.

You'll be talking about when your Huracan or 911 Turbo will be delivered.

My man, like seriously who has the time to monitor a site and risk getting IP banned from setting a PM too quickly. And I don’t have the luxury of having a tier zero store near me. The best thing on this island is Truest and good luck paying those prices. That left SNKRS and I struck out 9 times times two with my gf.

On top of that, I teach so I wouldn’t even be able to cop crap even if I heard the monitor go off. My students would probably be giving me weird looks and wonder what I’m doing. Hawaii is 2-3 hours behind PST too so keep that in mind. But hey, probably just some salty blad over here when I would’ve just been happy with a single pair from this collection

Shoutout to the Hawaii guys in here. You in Oahu boss? I live in the Kakaako area.

Since roughly 99% of the drop was raffles (I’m including SNKRS and Mercer) how is it possible that the reason people didn’t hit was because they didn’t try hard enough?

Some were lucky, some were really luck (I’m looking at you bigevan23 bigevan23 ) but most of us weren’t. The NYC events were impossible to get into and somehow I was able to get “extra credit” and the “closing party” and neither offered you the opportunity at what everyone really wanted.

I guess we could have all bought bots to enter us a million times into SNKRS or ran scripts for the raffles but let’s be honest if they were easy to get they wouldn’t be going for 5-10x retail.

LOL @ the guys from big cities saying effort = success on these. Location was everything on this release unless you got really lucky on SNKRs or pay to be in a slack/discord monitor group.
i live in st. louis fam ..& got 3 out of 9.

I moved on from sneakers a long time ago fam. I’m just here for other people’s stories. Sneaker culture so wack now.

Really into traveling & experiences at the moment

all this drop came down to was either a great deal of luck or a great deal of effort, or both. to say people didnt try or laugh in their face that they couldnt get at least 1/9 for retail is ignorant.

if you're flying to pick up sneakers that's great, but not everyone is able to that. I myself got two pairs through a local raffle and early access on SNRKS, but it was pretty much luck.

Congrats on getting them, help me understand how much more effort you guys put in than someone who entered the SNKRs raffles and any local raffles in their area and still struck out.
i didn't have any local raffles to enter & snkrs never had a raffle, i entered other raffles in other cities, i kinda mapped out what i did earlier a few posts back & how i've been blessed to kinda work, but also kinda enjoy life because i'm not on a typical 9 to 5 schedule, i'm never here to judge the next man, nor did i ever say i put more effort in. i was just saying it was kinda condescending to act as if people just sit online all day & wait for shoe drops, lol.
