Nike Zoom Vaporfly Elite 2017

I got a shipment email from RW with a UPS tracking number. But I won't believe it until the box actually shows up.

And what’s this? 😮

Mine just showed up and they're going to go straight back — there's a tear in the bottom/side of the ZoomX midsole right in front of the rear rubber outsole pads — an area which would be pretty high impact/tension. I'll wait for better QC, which is a bummer because I love this simple color scheme.

If anyone is looking, North LV outlet has a bunch of Vaporflys for $175 and few pair of Alphaflys too. Might be worth keeping in my whenver there's additional sale on the backwall.

Mine showed up today as well. The way they glued the rear outsole pieces to the midsole isn't that precise and I wouldn't be shocked if at least one of the pieces starts peeling off at some point. But I'm going to keep them.

what size are you? i’m sure one of this here wouldn’t mind taking it off your hands

I just got the notification that my size 12.5 Streakflys were cancelled. But hey, Nike offered to sell me some Invincible runs instead, sweet!

LaserShip with the early delivery :emoji_astonished:

-Buttery soft in the middle, like really feel it in your midfoot/arch.
-Sole is glued down.
-I’m guessing maybe 100-150mi depending on use before bottoming out like the Peg Turbo? Maybe close to 200 if you’re a forefoot striker?

Going to wait until after knee surgery to put them to the pavement, but wanted the Proto cw.

Wore one of my N% to the plate so I swapped the blown rubber up front and hard rubber in back for Vibram megagrip for really fun snow and winter runs. Turned out great and my first run was good. I never lost grip. Even on the ice.

There are about 2-3 mm of foam between the plate and the carbon.

I used tape to trace the existing outsole to loosely cut out the original shape. I cut out the rubber soled with leather sheers. The vibram outsole was really tough v wanted to stick to everything.

I used a heat gun to warm up the outsole and peel them off. I also cut out recessed areas for the vibram logos.

Then a layer of Barge went on and they cured for half an hour.

I reheated the glue to activate it, assembled the shoes, and used clamps that helped get the outsoles locked down.

After 24 hours, they were ready to go.

They performed so good and I’m really happy with the results.

WOW! Well done! What model Vibram soles are those? Do they make them in White or other colors?

Ah, didn’t think about that. I already got them on their way.

Plus, I really think that left shoe was going to fail pretty quickly with that tear. It was just begging for a chunk to tear out and mess up an ankle… it’s probably for the best that they’re headed back.
