:o RIP Wii U. You were the most underrated Nintendo system ever. You reminded me of how pure and joyous life can be :o

Smh i bought a wii u like a year ago. You think there will be any trade in deals??
I don't think there will be.

I'm trying to sell mine.

Maybe years later MAYBE the wiiu becomes valuable because it's considered retro.

But I doubt it.

The Wii U will be valuable...in 2046.

I'll most likely keep mine since I have a few SNES games on it and I doubt they'll transfer.

I hate to say it, but I knew that the Wii U was gonna fail from the jump. It looked too damn confusing.

The I'm a firm believer that the name ruined the system. The Wii toward the end of its lifespan was associated with sub-par ports of games and was getting bad flack. For them to drop a new console and keep the Wii name doomed them.

10000% the name was a fail from jump. Swear so many people didn't even know it was a completely new console.

I've gotta try to complete my collection before those games get scarce/expensive... I'm just glad I waited for the Nintendo Selects version of Pikmin 3 for $20 instead of buying the original version for $80-100+ on Amazon before the Selects version came out

I just view the Wii U as an upgraded Wii. I transferred all of my Wii stuff over when I bought it, and play Wii, Wii U, and Virtual Console games on it to this day. The gamepad isn't ideal, but I like the system as a whole. I agree that the name and a limited game library torpedoed its chance of success, though it really couldn't have come close to the original Wii's insane sales achievements regardless.

Bruh i just want a console like the gamecube, give me a regular controller out the box no gimicks.

I think Nintendo's created the Switch as an answer for gamers like you. The only "gimmick" of the console if the fact you can take the console anywhere. But you can play at home like a traditional home console if you want with the Pro controller. Plus it's been rumored the console will be packaged with the Pro Controller and Zelda Breath of the Wild so you'll be good to go.

I think the one thing that is getting overlooked here is the partnership with Nvidia. Their Shield device, which runs on an already outdated Tegra Chip, is a pretty capable device that can do game recording, cloud streaming via GeForce NOW, 4K video streaming, app support, console emulation, etc.

I think this types of functionality is what Nintendo is holding on to for the January reveal. So if we could get this type of functionality with all the Nintendo content and decent 3rd party support it's a wrap IMO.

This video gives a great explanation of what is currently capable on the old Tegra chips via the Nvidia Shield.
